Volvo XC60 Facelift Launched: Price, Updates, Features Explained

Volvo Car India has launched the 2025 Volvo XC60 Facelift at ₹71.90 lakh (ex-showroom), introducing a comprehensive update to its popular mid-size luxury SUV. The facelift debuts a slightly redesigned front fascia, a fully updated infotainment system, and advanced safety technologies.

While the powertrain remains the same, the XC60 now comes equipped with more premium features as standard, positioning it as a tech-forward alternative in a segment dominated by German rivals. Earlier this year, Volvo launched the updated XC90 in India. The flagship SUV received subtle design tweaks and enhanced tech features.

Volvo XC60 Facelift – Design and Exterior Updates

The most visible changes in the Volvo XC60 Facelift are at the front. A redesigned grille with a sharper profile and Volvo’s refreshed iron mark lends the SUV a cleaner, more modern appearance. Complementing this are the brand’s signature Thor’s Hammer LED headlamps, now with Active Bending functionality.

At the rear, the facelift brings darker, more defined taillamps that enhance the SUV’s width and presence. New 19-inch 5-double spoke diamond-cut glossy black alloy wheels come as standard, amplifying its stance.

Volvo has also introduced a broader colour palette, which now includes Forest Lake, Crystal White, Onyx Black, Denim Blue, Bright Dusk, and Vapour Grey.

Volvo XC60 Facelift – Interior Design and Tech

Inside, the Volvo XC60 Facelift gets a notable uplift in design and tech. The dashboard now features Charcoal tones with real wood inlays and contrasting seams, paired with a new Blond interior theme that brightens up the cabin.

A standout addition is the larger 11.2-inch vertically mounted infotainment system. Running on an Android-based OS and powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Platform, the system supports seamless over-the-air updates and is paired with built-in Google services. Apple CarPlay is supported via a wired connection.

Additional highlights include: 12.3-inch fully digital driver display, 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system with 1410W output, Wireless phone charger, Head-up display, Split-screen enhanced 360-degree camera view, Four-zone climate control with an advanced air purification system

The front seats offer ventilation, heating, and massage functions as standard, further boosting comfort on longer journeys.

Volvo XC60 Facelift – Engine and Powertrain

Under the hood, the Volvo XC60 Facelift retains the B5 mild-hybrid petrol powertrain. It’s powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine paired with a 48-volt integrated starter generator. The unit delivers 250 hp and 360 Nm of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive.Volvo XC60 Facelift

The mild-hybrid system provides smoother acceleration, improved fuel efficiency, and regenerative braking without needing plug-in charging. While the mechanicals are unchanged, Volvo claims the integration of the system improves the driving experience with reduced lag and better energy utilization.

Volvo XC60 Facelift – Safety and Driver Assistance

As expected from Volvo, the Volvo XC60 Facelift is packed with active and passive safety features. Standard equipment includes: Adaptive Cruise Control with Pilot Assist, Lane Keeping Aid, Run-off Road Mitigation, Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert and Brake Support, Collision Mitigation Support (front and rear), 360-degree camera with front, rear, and side parking assistance.

These systems are supported by an updated sensor suite, and Volvo’s latest software promises improved response in real-world traffic conditions.

Volvo XC60 Facelift – Market Positioning and Rivals

The Volvo XC60 Facelift continues to sit in the premium mid-size SUV segment, facing stiff competition from the Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3, Audi Q5, Land Rover Discovery Sport and Lexus NX. The XC60 Facelift skips a diesel option, unlike rivals like the GLC and X3 that still cater to diesel buyers.

Another point worth noting is that the current XC60, despite updates, is still based on the same generation that debuted globally in 2017. In contrast, the GLC and X3 have both entered entirely new generations, with their previous iterations having already competed with this same XC60 platform. In the time since Volvo introduced this generation, both Mercedes and BMW have cycled through two generations of their respective mid-size luxury SUVs, which may influence buyer perception
