Yamaha FZ-S Fi 150 hybrid launched in India at Rs 1.44 lakh: Here’s what’s new

Yamaha Motorcycle India has officially launched its first-ever hybrid motorcycle, the FZ-S Fi Hybrid, in India. Priced at ₹1,44,800 (ex-showroom). The FZ-S Fi Hybrid is available in two color choices: Racing Blue and Cyan Metallic Grey.

Talking about the engine first, the motorcycle is the familiar 149cc, single-cylinder engine, delivering 12.4 hp and 13.3 Nm of torque. However, it remains unclear if any performance enhancements have been made. The engine comes paired ti an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), a first for the brand’s motorcycles in India. Previously seen in Yamaha’s RayZR and Fascino hybrid scooters, this system now makes its way into the FZ series. Working in tandem with a Smart Motor Generator (SMG), the ISG charges the battery and provides a mild torque assist for quicker acceleration—especially beneficial in stop-and-go traffic and overtaking situations.

At a glance, the FZ-S Fi Hybrid maintains its signature muscular profile but incorporates subtle styling updates. The fuel tank cover now features sharper contours, and the front turn signals have been integrated into the air intake area, resulting in a sleeker appearance.

One of the standout additions is a new 4.2-inch color TFT display, offering smart connectivity features such as call and notification alerts and music playback control. The switchgear has been redesigned and repositioned for better functionality, while the handlebar placement has also been adjusted. Additionally, the fuel tank now comes with an airplane-style fuel cap for a more premium feel.
