Hyundai Motor India has officially revealed the 2nd Gen Hyundai Venue, marking a major step forward for its popular compact SUV. The new model is taller, wider, and rides on a longer wheelbase than before, positioning it as a more substantial offering in the segment. Hyundai most recently launched the Knight Series of its cars, namely the Creta Electric Knight, i20 Knight, and Alcazar Knight. HMIL also underwent a management re-shuffle a few weeks ago with Mr Tarun Garg being appointed as the company’s CEO and Managing Director, he will assume this position from January of 2026.

2nd Gen Hyundai Venue – Exterior Design
The exterior sees extensive updates, including quad-beam LED headlamps, twin horn LED DRLs, and a dark chrome radiator grille that ties into Hyundai’s global design language. A new horizon LED light bar connects the tail lamps, while the sculpted character lines and signature C-pillar garnish give it a muscular, upright stance. The SUV also gains bridge-type roof rails, an in-glass “Venue” emblem, and new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

The SUV will be offered in six monotone shades—including new colours like Hazel Blue and Mystic Sapphire—and two dual-tone combinations such as Hazel Blue with Abyss Black roof and Atlas White with Abyss Black roof.

In terms of dimensions, the 2nd Gen Hyundai Venue measures 3995 mm in length, 1800 mm in width, and 1665 mm in height, with a 2520 mm wheelbase—a 20 mm increase over the previous model. The body is now 48 mm taller and 30 mm wider, giving it the proportions of a larger, more commanding SUV.
2nd Gen Hyundai Venue – Interior Design
The cabin of the 2nd Gen Hyundai Venue moves closer to the premium compact SUV space, emphasizing comfort, connectivity, and craftsmanship. The new H-architecture dashboard combines form and function, while the dual 12.3 inch curved panoramic display setup brings together the infotainment and digital instrument cluster into a single, flowing unit.

Hyundai’s new dark navy and dove grey dual-tone interior theme is complemented by terrazzo-textured crash pad finishes, ambient lighting (Moon White), and a redesigned coffee-table-style center console. The D-cut steering wheel, premium leatherette upholstery, and Venue-branded seats add subtle sophistication without going overboard.
Practical improvements include 2-step reclining rear seats, rear AC vents, rear window sunshades, and a 4-way electric driver’s seat. The extended wheelbase claims to improve rear legroom, and a scooped front seatback design creates more knee space. Hyundai have said door openings have been widened for easier ingress and egress, while bolstered seats have been made available to ensure better posture during long drives.

2nd Gen Hyundai Venue – Powertrain
Under the hood, the 2nd Gen Hyundai Venue continues to offer a diverse engine lineup catering to different buyers. Three powertrains are available:
-
1.2-litre Kappa MPi petrol
-
1.0-litre Kappa Turbo GDi petrol
-
1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel
Transmission options include manual, automatic, and 7-speed DCT units. While Hyundai hasn’t disclosed performance figures yet, the combination of familiar engines shouldn’t see a huge bump in the performance figures.

The model range now adopts a new HX nomenclature, inspired by “Hyundai Experience.” The trim levels range from HX2 to HX10, with the turbo variants marked by a ‘T’ suffix (e.g., HX6T). This shift to an alphanumeric naming system signals Hyundai’s move toward a more unified, global variant structure.
2nd Gen Hyundai Venue – Market Positioning
Since its debut in 2019, the Hyundai Venue has remained a strong competitor in India’s compact SUV segment, selling over 7 lakh units. The 2nd Gen Hyundai Venue aims to sustain that momentum with enhanced proportions and a tech-laden cabin, it competes with the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV3XO, Nissan Magnite, Skoda Kushaq and Renault Kiger.
Bookings are now open at Hyundai dealerships across India and online for ₹25,000, ahead of the official launch on November 4, 2025.
