Audi India has officially opened bookings for the Audi SQ8 in the country at a booking amount of ₹5 lakh. The performance SUV is scheduled to launch on March 17. This marks the brand’s first product launch in India for 2026. With the arrival of the SQ8 the Q8 range in India expands further. The new model is positioned between the regular Q8 variant and the flagship RSQ8 performance version.
Audi SQ8 – Expected Exterior Design
The Audi SQ8 carries forward the same core design language seen on the standard Q8. The overall silhouette remains familiar with a wide stance and a coupe style roofline that defines the model range. Up front the SUV features the signature single frame grille finished with a silver surround. It also gets the new 2D Audi logo which is now part of the brand’s latest identity. The front fascia includes LED Matrix headlamps which give the SUV a sharp look on the road. A large front intake is also present which features silver inlays.

From the side the proportions appear very similar to the regular Q8 and the RSQ8. The coupe like roofline flows smoothly towards the rear which adds to the sporty profile of the SUV. Strong character lines and sharp creases across the body panels further enhance the visual appeal. The dimensions are also expected to remain largely similar to the other Q8 variants sold in India.

At the rear the SQ8 retains the connected tail lamp setup which is already seen on the regular Q8. The light bar stretches across the width of the tailgate which gives the SUV a modern appearance especially at night. The overall rear design remains clean and wide which is in line with the design theme of the Q8 family.
Audi SQ8 – Expected Interior Design and Features
Inside the cabin the SQ8 is expected to offer a combination of Alcantara and leather upholstery. The seats are likely to feature SQ8 badging which highlights its performance oriented identity. The interior layout remains very similar to the standard Q8. The SUV will feature a 12.3 inch driver display which comes with S specific graphics. It will also get a separate touchscreen interface that handles the climate control functions.

Additional features are expected to include a panoramic sunroof and a head up display. Audi is also likely to offer a premium Bang and Olufsen sound system for the cabin experience. Other comfort features that are expected include ventilated seats along with heating and massage functions. Lumbar support and memory seat functions are also expected to be available. These features are currently based on what is offered in global variants as well as the RSQ8. Final equipment details will be confirmed only at the time of launch.
Audi SQ8 – Powertrain
Powering the Audi SQ8 will be a 4 litre twin turbo V8 petrol engine. Audi has confirmed that this engine will produce 501 horsepower and 770 Nm of torque. For reference the RSQ8 uses the same engine in a higher state of tune where it produces 640 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. The standard Q8 on the other hand uses a 3 litre V6 engine that produces 340 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque.

The V8 engine in the SQ8 is paired with an 8 speed automatic transmission. Power is delivered to all four wheels through Audi’s quattro all wheel drive system. With this setup the SUV is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.1 seconds which places it firmly in the high performance luxury SUV segment.
Audi SQ8 – Booking Details and Price
Let us also talk about the bookings. Customers who are interested in the Audi SQ8 can book the SUV right now with a booking amount of ₹5 lakh. Audi has confirmed that customers can reserve the luxury SUV online through the brand’s official website or through the myAudi Connect App

The Audi SQ8 is expected to arrive in India through the completely built unit route. Currently the standard Audi Q8 is priced at ₹1.13 crore ex showroom while the more extreme RSQ8 is priced at ₹2.35 crore ex showroom. Based on this pricing structure the SQ8 is expected to be positioned between these two models at an estimated price of around ₹1.8 crore to ₹1.9 crore ex showroom. Final pricing will be announced at the time of launch.
Once launched the Audi SQ8 will primarily rival the Porsche Cayenne GTS in India. Both SUVs share the same platform and also use a similar 4 litre twin turbo V8 powertrain which makes this an interesting rivalry in the high performance luxury SUV segment.
