Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Launched at Rs 10.99 Lakh with Industry Leading Buyback Offer

Volkswagen India has launched the updated Volkswagen Taigun in the country at a starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh ex showroom. This marks the first major facelift for the SUV since its debut in 2021. Along with the update, the brand has introduced an industry leading assured buyback program, offering 75% of the ex showroom price as residual value for usage up to three years or 30,000 km.

The facelift brings over 40 updates, new colour options and changes to both design and features, while continuing to be based on the MQB A0 IN platform that also underpins the likes of the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Kushaq and Slavia.

Volkswagen Taigun Facelift – Exterior Design

The Taigun facelift gets a refreshed front design with a new grille and updated LED headlamps. A major highlight is the illuminated Volkswagen logo at the front and rear, connected by an LED light strip. This is a first in the segment.

The SUV no longer gets fog lamps, with the lower section now featuring chrome elements integrated into the air intake. The rear also sees updates with new LED tail lamps and welcome and goodbye lighting animations.Dimensions remain unchanged, including the wheelbase of 2651 mm. Volkswagen has introduced new alloy wheel designs ranging from 16 inch to 17 inch depending on the variant.

The facelift is offered in nine colours, including new shades like avocado pearl and steel grey, along with existing options such as wild cherry red, candy white, deep black pearl and lava blue.

Inside, the layout remains familiar but gets feature upgrades. The 10.1 inch touchscreen infotainment system continues with an updated interface for improved usability. The digital instrument cluster now offers multiple configurable display modes.

A key addition is the panoramic sunroof, replacing the earlier single pane unit. The SUV also gets voice command functionality that can be activated using Hello Volkswagen or Hello VW, allowing control over AC and infotainment functions. Other features include ventilated front seats, electric seat adjustment, smart touch climatronic AC, wireless connectivity, and a digital cockpit.

Volkswagen Taigun Facelift – Powertrain

The Taigun facelift continues with two TSI petrol engine options.

The 1.0 litre TSI engine produces up to 115 hp and 178 Nm of torque. It is now paired with a six speed manual and a new 8-speed automatic transmission, replacing the earlier 6-speed unit. The 1.5 litre TSI engine delivers 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque and is paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. It also features active cylinder technology for improved efficiency.

In terms of braking, the 1.5 litre variants now get disc brakes at the rear, while the 1.0 litre continues with the front disc and rear drum setup.

Volkswagen continues to focus on safety with over 40 standard features across variants. These include six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS, EBD, multi collision braking and brake assist. The SUV also comes with three point seatbelts for all passengers, ISOFIX mounts, rear parking sensors and a strong body structure based on the MQB platform. The Taigun retains its five star Global NCAP safety rating.

A major highlight of this launch is the new assured buyback scheme. Volkswagen is offering a residual value of 75 percent of the ex showroom price for customers who opt for the program, valid for up to three years or 30,000 km. This program is applicable on bookings made till May 31, 2026 and aims to provide better ownership confidence, easier upgrades and improved resale value.
