Mini Countryman C

Mini Countryman C set for launch on June 17th: What to expect from BMW X1 & Audi Q3 Rival?

The BMW Group is all set to launch the Mini Countryman C in India on June 17th. Pre bookings for the car are already open across authorised Mini dealerships, and the Countryman C will become the third Countryman model in Mini’s India lineup joining the Countryman Electric and the performance focused Countryman JCW All4. The Electric and JCW All4 are Completely Built Units. Significantly, the Countryman C will be locally assembled at BMW’s manufacturing plant, which is expected to play a key role in its pricing and positioning.

The BMW Group last month launched the BMW M440i Convertible, and this month the brand is also set to introduce the BMW X6 M60i in India.

Mini Countryman C – Expected Exterior Design

In terms of design, the Mini Countryman C will share a strong resemblance with the Countryman Electric, while featuring a few changes to set it apart. The front fascia is expected to get a slightly revised grille along with updated bumpers that align with its petrol powered identity. The overall stance remains upright and rugged, staying true to the Countryman design language.

The Countryman C is expected to feature body coloured door handles, along with black finished outside rearview mirror housings, door pillars and roof. Adding contrast to the design will be champagne coloured exterior trim elements. The alloy wheels and matrix LED tail lamps further enhance the premium appeal of the vehicle.

Mini has also listed five exterior colour options on its official India website. Buyers will be able to choose from Chilli Red, British Racing Green, Nanuq White, Slate Blue and Smokey Green.

Mini Countryman C – Interior Design and Features

Inside, the Mini Countryman C is expected to carry forward the modern and minimalistic cabin layout seen on the electric version. The highlight will likely be a circular 9.4 inch OLED touchscreen positioned at the centre of the dashboard, paired with a two spoke steering wheel. The layout is expected to be clean, with a strong emphasis on digital interfaces.

The cabin could feature a dual tone theme, along with dashboard elements made using recycled materials. This aligns with Mini’s global approach towards sustainability and modern design. The single fully loaded variant is expected to include dual zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a full LED lighting package, a head up display, paddle shifters and a premium audio system.

It is important to note that these features are based on what has been seen on the Countryman Electric and Countryman JCW All4. Final specifications for the India spec Mini Countryman C will only be confirmed at the time of launch.

Mini Countryman C – Expected Powertrain

Powering the Mini Countryman C will be a 1.5 litre turbo petrol direct injection engine paired with a 7 speed dual clutch transmission. While official specifications have not yet been revealed by Mini India, this engine is expected to be similar to the three cylinder unit used in the BMW X1. In the X1, this engine produces 136 hp and 230 Nm of torque.

Mini Countryman C – Expected Market Positioning and Rivals

The locally assembled Mini Countryman C is expected to be priced lower than the range topping JCW All4 variant, which currently retails at Rs 64.9 lakh ex showroom. This positioning will make it a more accessible entry point into the Countryman lineup for buyers looking at a premium compact SUV with distinctive styling.

In the Indian market, the Mini Countryman C will compete with models such as the BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Mercedes Benz GLA. With local assembly and a strong brand identity, it aims to carve out a niche among buyers who prioritise design and brand value along with everyday usability.
