BMW Opens Pre Launch Bookings For BMW X6 M60i : V8 engine with 523 hp

BMW India has opened pre launch bookings for the new BMW X6 M60i xDrive. The performance focused luxury SUV coupe will come to India as a CBU and marks the return of the X6 nameplate after 3 years. It brings together strong road presence and a V8 under the hood and will go up against rivals like the Audi SQ8, Porsche Cayenne Coupe and Mercedes-AMG GLE 53.

Customers can book the BMW X6 M60i xDrive online via the BMW India website or by visiting their nearest authorised dealership. That said, many details around features and equipment are still not officially confirmed for India. Most expectations right now are based on global spec models and could change at launch.

BMW X6 M60i – Exterior Design

The X6 M60i sticks to the familiar coupe SUV shape that has always set it apart. You get a sloping roofline, wide stance and a design that clearly leans towards sportiness over practicality. The front is expected to feature a large kidney grille and sharp LED headlamps, while the sides carry strong character lines and large alloy wheels. The rear keeps things clean with sleek tail lamps and a tapering roofline that gives it that signature coupe look.

Do note, these design elements are based on the global version of the car. Final India spec trims, finishes and styling details will only be confirmed at launch.

BMW X6 M60i – Interior Design and Features

On the inside, the X6 M60i is expected to feel properly premium and tech heavy. The international spec model gets a dual tone cabin with a layered dashboard design along with BMW’s curved display setup. This includes a 14.9 inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster, giving it a clean and modern layout.

In terms of features, global models come with powered, heated and ventilated front seats, driver seat memory function, dual zone climate control, wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof and a powered tailgate. There is also a tyre pressure monitoring system and a full ADAS suite for added safety and convenience.

That said, these details are based on the international spec version. The India spec X6 M60i is expected to be similarly equipped, but the final feature list will only be confirmed at launch.

BMW X6 M60i – Powertrain and Performance

Powering the X6 M60i is BMW’s S68 4.4 litre twin turbo V8 petrol engine paired with a 48V mild hybrid system. In global spec, this setup produces 523 hp and 750 Nm of torque, giving it serious performance credentials. The engine is paired with an 8 speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels through BMW’s xDrive all wheel drive system.

BMW claims a 0 to 100 kmph time of 4.3 seconds along with an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph.

The global version also comes with rear wheel steering, an electronically controlled rear differential and M Sport brakes with four piston front and single piston rear calipers, all of which improve handling and stopping power.

That said, these specifications are based on the international spec model. Final engine tuning, equipment and performance related details for the India spec version will only be confirmed at launch.

BMW X6 M60i – Market Positioning and Rivals

The X6 M60i is aimed at buyers who want something more distinctive than a regular luxury SUV. It is not just about practicality, it is about design, performance and presence. Being a CBU, it will sit at the higher end of the segment.

Rivals will include the Mercedes AMG GLE 53 Coupe, Porsche Cayenne Coupe and Audi SQ8. That said, final pricing, variants and exact positioning in India will only be known at launch, and current assumptions are based on how these cars are placed globally.
