Ather Community Day 2025: EL Platform, AtherStack 7.0, 450 Upgrades and More

Ather Community Day 2025 marked the third edition of the annual gathering of the Bengaluru based EV scooter manufacturer. This time the stage was set for several important product and technology announcements. From the debut of the all-new EL platform to fast charging innovations and concept design explorations, the event highlighted Ather’s next phase of growth.

Ather Community Day – EL Platform & EL 01 Concept

The headline announcement of Ather Community Day was the EL platform, the first new vehicle architecture from the company since the 450. Designed for versatility and scalability, the platform aims to serve different consumer needs while reducing costs.

The EL platform, Ather claims is backed by 26 lakh km of real-world data, features a new chassis, powertrain, and redesigned electronics stack. Its modularity allows Ather to build scooters across three segments without reengineering core components. Serviceability also improves, with a simpler layout enabling 15% faster assembly and service intervals extended to 10,000 km.

Safety has been improved with the Advanced Electronic Braking System (AEBS), while convenience comes via the Ather Charge Drive Controller that integrates an onboard charger with the motor controller. During the event Ather’s CEO also confirmed the introduction of ADAS with the new EL Platform based scooters.Ather Community Day

Alongside the platform, Ather presented the EL 01, a concept model built on this architecture. It is said to be the first scooter to be launched with this platform. We can expect a tentative launch in 2026. Ather has also confirmed that the new EL 01 along with other EL Platform scooters will be manufactured in its upcoming Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) facility.

Ather Community Day – Redux Design Concept

Also showcased was Redux, a performance-oriented concept that sits between a scooter and motorcycle. Built with a lightweight aluminium frame, a 3D-printed lattice mesh seat, and materials such as AmplyTex, Redux prioritises adaptability and rider connection.

Features include adaptive ride dynamics, posture-based transformation between scooter and sport bike modes, and a Morph-UI system that alters the interface based on riding context. “Take Off,” an acceleration-focused mode, also featured prominently. Redux was less a product launch than a design study and was an exploration of where two-wheeler mobility could go.

Ather Community Day – AtherStack 7.0

The company also launched AtherStack 7.0, its biggest software upgrade to date. A central feature is voice interaction, designed using a large language model trained for Indian dialects. This allows natural conversations with the scooter, enabling functions like navigation, battery status, range status, tyre pressure updates, location sharing etc.

Other safety-oriented features include Pothole Alerts and Crash Alerts, powered by data gathered from Ather scooters nationwide. The update also expands theft safety with ParkSafe and LockSafe, offering owners real-time alerts and remote immobilisation. The new software update also allows users to switch off cahrging remotely. A feature that needs to be highlighted is the inclusion of cricket score updates with the new software update.

Ather Community Day confirmed that AtherStack 7.0 will roll out as an OTA update to the Rizta Z and Ather 450X (up to Gen 3). With the new Software updates to AtherStack, Ather has unveiled updates to their HALO smart helmet. The updates include new colours, emergency pull-out padding, a pinlock-compatible anti-fog visor, and USB-C charging. With the updates, the company also slashed pricing for the Halo helmets. The “Halo” which was earlier priced at ₹9,999 is now available at ₹4,999, the “Halo Bit” is now pirced at ₹2,999.

Ather Community Day – 450 Upgrades

The 450 series received an upgrade in the form of Infinite Cruise, an adaptive cruise control system tailored for Indian roads. It offers CityCruise for traffic and highway conditions, Hill Control for climbing inclines, and Crawl Control for managing rough terrain at low speeds.

These modes are powered by regenerative braking and multimode traction control, creating a more stable riding experience. Infinite Cruise will first appear on the 2025 Ather 450 Apex.

Ather Community Day – Rizta Upgrades

Ather also announced updates to the Rizta Z, its family-focused scooter. Existing users will receive an OTA update activating touchscreen functionality and a new Eco Mode, enhancing both usability and range management.

The Rizta line also expands with a new Terracotta Red dual-tone finish, providing buyers with more aesthetic choice. Importantly, the touchscreen dashboard was not a hardware replacement but software activation of features already present in the scooter.

Ather Community Day – Charging Upgrades

Charging infrastructure received and update at Ather Community Day as well. The new 6 kW charger is half the size of the existing unit yet delivers double the speed, capable of adding 30 km of range in just 10 minutes on select variants.

Some chargers will also integrate a tyre inflator, addressing practical issues like low tyre pressure. Industry-wide, the adoption of the LECCS standard by multiple OEMs and charge point operators points to greater interoperability in the future.

Ather Community Day – Conclusion

The third Ather Community Day was less about flashy product reveals and more about presenting a coherent roadmap for the company. With the EL platform, AtherStack 7.0, upgrades to Rizta and the 450 series, and faster charging, the announcements suggest a deliberate move towards scale, usability, and broader customer reach.

Tarun Mehta, Co-founder & CEO, Ather Energy, said, “With the EL platform, we are laying the foundation for Ather’s next phase of growth. Just as the 450 defined our first chapter, EL will define the next, enabling us to develop multiple types of scooters at scale far more efficiently.

This platform-first approach enables faster innovation and improved efficiency, serviceability, and rider experience. EL reflects years of learning, deep R&D, and engineering. Our new factory at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar will scale with EL platform products to meet growing demand effectively.”
