Fisker has just announced its foray into the indian market with its electric SUV called Ocean in the top-spec Extreme trim. The special edition will be limited to 100 units initially and will come to India with a country-specific Vigyan Edition named after its Indian subsidiary. According to Fisker, the homologation will be completed by September with deliveries beginning in the last quarter of this year
Fisker Ocean Extreme Vigyan Edition: Details
While not much is known about the indian-spec, the Ocean in Extreme trim gets a massive 113kWh battery abroad with a WLTP claimed range of 707Kms. Fisker claims that this makes it the highest claimed range of any electric SUV in Europe. This battery pack provides juice to dual electric motors producing 572HP and a massive 737NM of torque. Acceleration figures include a 0-100Kmph time of less than 4 seconds driving all four wheels. Earth, Fun and Hyper drive modes are present.
Talking of the interiors, Fisker claims that its made from vegan and sustainable materials along with using recycled material for the carpets etc. It features a solar panel on the roof to provide a boost to charge the battery while on the move. Other convenience features include a revolving 17.1 inch touchscreen, ADAS Level 2 suite, auto high beam assist, Fisker Pulse Audio system, Digital IRVM, front and rear heated seats, Limo mode and more. Fisker has not announced any india-specific features yet.
Fisker Ocean Extreme Vigyan Edition Price in India
The homologation process for the Ocean Extreme Vigyan Edition has already started with Fisker claiming a deadline of September to finish the same. Deliveries will start shortly after in the last quarter of this year. While prices have not been revealed yet, Fisker says it will be priced close to the European version which is priced at £60,880 in the UK. Converted to rupees, it comes to about 64.7 Lakhs. However, taxes and import duties will add to it and could very well push the prices above Rs 1 Crore.
Fisker says the Vigyan Edition will be limited to a 100 units and will be available to buy through invitation only. It will have no direct rivals, although it could go up against the BMW iX and the Audi Q8 E-tron.
