BMW X5 facelift launched at Rs. 93.90 Lakhs

The facelifted X5 gets a series of revisions inside and outside

BMW has launched the facelifted version of their full-size luxury SUV, the X5. Priced from Rs. 93.90 Lakhs (Ex-showroom), it gets new features and a sharper front fascia with a nip and tuck elsewhere. Available in two trims and engine options, it also gets a 48V mild-hybrid system as standard.

BMW X5 Facelift Design

Starting off with the front end, the X5 facelift now feature updated slimmer Adaptive LED headlamps, a new grille with an optional illuminated function (on the X5 40i Petrol) and a new sleeker bumper with vertical air vents on either ends. Moving towards the side profile, the X5 now features 21 inch alloys as standard along with roof rails finished in silver or black depending on the variant.

Towards the rear, the changes have been largely restricted to the redesigned taillamps and a new faux skidplate.

BMW X5 Facelift Interiors & Features

Inside, the X5 facelift receives a major revamp. There is a new dashboard and a new steering wheel. However, the main highlight is the BMW Curved Display which houses the 12.3 inch digital cluster as well as the 14.9 inch touchscreen infotainment system in itself. Another change is the 4 zone climate control and new ambient light bar in the passenger footwell.

Other features include Navigation with real-time traffic information and augmented view, Heads-up Display and connected drive features include BMW ID, BMW App, Digital Key Plus, Emergency Call, Real-time Traffic Information, Remote Services and smartphone parking among others. It also gets Cruise Control, the Attentiveness Assistant, Parking Assistant Professional with Surround View Camera, Drive Recorder, remote parking via smartphone and Reversing Assistant as standard. Further, the xLine trims get sports seats as standard with the M Sport getting Comfort seats with ventilation and electric adjust for driver and co-driver seats.

BMW X5 Facelift Powertrain

As mentioned before, the new X5 gets a choice of Petrol and Diesel powertrains which also receive 48V mild-hybrid assist as standard. The 3.0L turbocharged 6 cylinder petrol in the 40i trims produces 381HP and 520NM of torque. This unit paired to an 8 speed torque converter gearbox sends the X5 from 0-100 in just 5.4 seconds.

The Diesel variants also receive a 3.0L 6 cylinder motor which makes 286HP and 650NM of torque. The same 8 speed torque converter also does duty here to send the diesel X5 from 0-100 in 6.1 seconds. BMW claims the 48V mild-hybrid system adds an additional 12HP and 200NM torque when needed. Four driving modes are offered- Comfort, Efficient, Sport and Sport Plus. BMW is also offering their xDrive all-wheel-drive system as standard on the new X5 along with a self-levelling air suspension.

In terms of safety features, the X5 gets Dynamic Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Assist, 6 airbags, Cornering Braking Control, EPB with auto-hold and more.

BMW X5 Facelift Price & Variants

BMW has launched the X5 facelift in 4 variants with 2 each in Petrol and Diesel fuel options ranging from a price of Rs. 93.90 Lakhs to Rs. 1.07 Cr. The detailed pricelist is given below.

Exterior colour options for the X5 include Brooklyn Grey, Carbon Black, Mineral White, Skyscraper Grey, Tanzanite Blue and Black Sapphire. The interiors come standard with Sensafin upholstery in Cognac shade on the xLine trims while the M Sport gets “Merino” leather interiors in three themes- Tartufo, Black and Black & Ivory White.

The new X5 will rival other luxury SUVs such as the Mercedes-Benz GLE, Range Rover Velar, Audi Q7 and more.
