Hyundai Creta Summer Edition Launched at Rs 12.05 lakhs: Gets These New Features

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) have launched the Hyundai Creta Summer Edition,with prices starting at Rs 12.05 lakh ex showroom. The update brings a set of feature additions across multiple trims, focusing on improving in car technology, convenience and safety across the range. Most recently in India, Hyundai launched the facelifted Hyundai Verna and the updated Hyundai Exter last month.

The Summer Edition is a feature focused update with additions spread across EX, EX(O), S(O), SX and SX Premium variants. Hyundai has introduced several upgrades to make commonly used features more widely available across trims.

Higher variants now get access to features such as a 10.25 inch multi display digital cluster, surround view monitor and blind spot view monitor. These additions aim to improve both driver awareness and overall cabin experience.

The EX Summer Edition now includes a smart key and push button start, adding basic convenience features to the entry level trim.

The EX(O) Summer Edition builds on this with quad beam LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, LED turn indicators and a rear window sunshade. It also gets a rear camera with dynamic guidelines and dual tone styled steel wheels. The S(O) Summer Edition introduces a dashcam, which is also offered in the S(O) Knight Summer Edition. This feature allows users to record drives and capture events on the road.

The SX Summer Edition adds a 10.25 inch digital cluster along with a dashcam, improving both display and recording functionality. At the top, the SX Premium Summer Edition includes a surround view monitor, blind spot view monitor and front parking sensors, enhancing visibility and ease of driving in urban conditions.

Hyundai Creta Summer Edition – Safety Features

The addition of a factory fitted dashcam across select variants is a key update. It supports multiple recording modes including driving recording, emergency recording, vacation mode and on demand video capture. Users can access and download recordings through a mobile application. Other safety oriented additions include blind spot monitoring and surround view camera systems, which assist the driver during lane changes and parking.

Hyundai Creta Summer Edition – Powertrain Options

The Summer Edition continues with the existing powertrain options. Buyers can choose between a 1.5 litre MPi petrol engine and a 1.5 litre U2 CRDi diesel engine. The 1.5 MPi engine puts out 114 hp and 144 Nm of torque, the 1.5 diesel on the other hand makes 115hp and 250 Nm of torque.  Transmission options include a 6 speed manual and IVT for petrol variants, while the diesel engine is available with a 6 speed manual and torque converter automatic transmission options.

Hyundai Creta Summer Edition – Pricing and Rivals

Prices for the Summer Edition start at Rs 12.05 lakh for the EX petrol manual variant and go up to Rs 17.88 lakh for the SX Premium diesel manual variant.

The Hyundai Creta competes in the mid size SUV segment against rivals such as the Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, Renault Duster, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun. It also goes up against models like the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Skoda Slavia and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
