Hyundai launches ‘Samarth’ initiative to support people with disability

Hyundai will partner GoSports Foundation & Samarthanam Trust

Hyundai Motor India has launched a special initiative to help create awareness and build a mass movement for people with disabilities. As a part of this inclusive initiative, it will make several changes and additions to its products.

Under this initiative, Hyundai will make its dealerships more disabled-friendly by including ramps in all of their dealerships and service centres by February 2024. Additionally, the CSR arm of the company- Hyundai Motor India Foundation has said that they will also support para-athletes who wish to compete in the Paralympics in collaboration with the GoSports Foundation.

On the other hand, under the collaboration with Samarthanam Trust will also lead to support to the visually impaired cricketers by offering training camps at the grassroots and national level while the program also includes conducting International Bilateral Series for India’s blind cricket team on a larger platform.

Cars for the specially-abled

As part of this initiative, it will also be making certain offerings available for the specially-abled. These include special accessories and swivel-seats for all their automotive offerings. MOBIS, the spare parts wing of Hyundai will be developing and manufacturing these parts. Hyundai has also increased its focus on safety by making 6 airbags as standard fitments earlier this month. The Hyundai website is also in the process of being overhauled to include features to help people with hearing and visual impairments navigate.
