Jeep Wrangler facelift launched at Rs. 67.65 Lakhs; more equipment

Jeep’s iconic SUV gets few updates to refresh itself

Jeep India has taken wraps off the refreshed Wrangler for the 2024 MY. It hosts a bunch of new equipment as well as updated styling and ADAS Level 2 capabilities. Prices for the new Wrangler start at Rs. 67.65 Lakhs (Ex-showroom)

Jeep Wrangler: what’s changed

In terms of design changes, the Wrangler now sports a refreshed seven-slot grille with the all-black treatment. It also gets new 18 inch alloys for the Unlimited variant while the Rubicon also sports new 17 inch alloys with beefier tyres. According to Jeep, the windshield is also new and is now made using Gorilla Glass to give it better strength. Besides these, the Unlimited also get a new colour option of Sarge Green which was restricted to the Rubicon previously.

Inside, the Wrangler now gets a slightly different dashboard to accommodate the new 12.3 inch UConnect touchscreen infotainment system which now also supports wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity. Also new are standard 12-way electrically-adjustable seats for both the driver and co-passenger. Another major change is the induction of 6 airbags as standard- up from 4 previously along with ADAS Level 2 features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Auto high beam headlamps, traction control, roll-mitigation and ESC among others. The Rubicon variant also gets a front parking camera with washer in addition to the rear one to help during off-road conditions.

Jeep Wrangler facelift: Powertrain, Price, Variants

Under the hood, the Wrangler facelift remains the same and gets powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine making 270HP and 400NM of torque. This is mated to an 8 speed torque converter automatic transmission along with Jeep’s Selec-Trac four-wheel-drive system with front and rear locking differentials. It also gets an electronically-disconnecting sway bar, BF Goodrich MT tyres, Heavy duty full-float solid rear axle in the Rubicon version.

The new Wrangler has been priced at Rs. 67.65 Lakhs for the Unlimited variant while the Rubicon retails for 71.65 Lakhs (All prices ex-showroom) which is a price increase of nearly 5 Lakhs. The Wrangler does not have any direct rivals and will instead compete with SUVs such as the Land Rover Defender.
