JSW MG Motor India unveils EV-focused initiatives

JSW MG Motor India has launched a series of initiatives aimed at facilitating and boosting the adoption of EVs at their DriEV.Bharat event. The initiatives are intended to create an unhindered long term experience for EV users while also focusing on sustainability along with partnering up with several key players in the associated technology spaces. This includes the launch of eHUB by MG, Project REVIVE, EVPedia and MG-Jio Innovative Connectivity Platform.

eHUB by MG

eHUB by MG is a one-stop solution for EV owners which helps in locating, navigating, reserving slots and paying for charging stations. The app contains a very comprehensive network of chargers across the country as MG has partnered with leading public charging providers such as Chargezone, Adani Total Energies Limited (ATEL), BPCL, Glida, HPCL, Jio-BP, Shell, Statiq and Zeon with more providers expected to be onboarded soon. It can accessed from the respective app stores of Android and iOS smartphones and is available in 11 languages.

Project REVIVE

Project REVIVE has been formed in partnership with Lohum and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) to give a second life to repurpose used EV batteries to build energy solutions and reduce the carbon footprint. As part of the project, battery components are extracted individually to power community buildings and remote rural communities during times of power outage. A pilot project has already been conducted at a school near Dehradun.

EVPEDIA

MG has also unveiled the EVPEDIA platform in order to spread awareness about electric vehicles and their ecosystem. Besides creating awareness through interactive videos and live demonstrations, it also has nifty features such a cost-of-ownership calculator, a repository of government policies as well as a collection of research papers and publications on the subject. The site also has an AI-powered bot called “e-Vir” to help with information.

MG-Jio Innovative Connectivity Platform

The MG-Jio ICP is a partnership between MG Motor and Jio to enhance the user’s in-car experience. It features MGs own app store with various apps for gaming, education, entertainment and streaming services and more along with a comprehensive Home-to-car connected technology suite via Jio Fiber set-top box. It also offers voice commands in upto 6 indian languages as well. This feature will debut with the MG Windsor EV expected to launch next month with existing models also getting them in due course of time.
