Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6 Pack 2 Get 79 kWh Battery , Upgraded Cabin Features

Mahindra have launched the 79 kWh battery pack in the Pack Two variants of the Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6. The company will begin deliveries of the Pack 2 models by the end of July 2025. Mahindra claims a real-world city driving range of up to 500 km for the larger battery. The update also brings incremental feature enhancements based on prior customer input.

Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6 – Battery Pack and Performance

The Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6 now come with two battery configurations: 59 kWh and the newly introduced 79 kWh. These promise estimated city driving ranges of 400 km and 500 km respectively. The 79 kWh variant also supports ultra-fast charging from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes using a 175 kW DC charger. The smaller pack uses a 140 kW DC charger. The XEV 9e hits 100 kmph in just 6.8 seconds, while the BE6 does the sprint in 6.7 seconds. The XEV 9e tops out at 202 kmph.Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6

In terms of power, the 79 kWh models deliver 281 hp, while the 59 kWh versions produce 227 hp. Other features include adaptive cruise control, multi-step regeneration with Auto Mode, one-pedal drive, and variable gear ratio steering.

Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6 – Pricing and Booking Updates

The ex-showroom pricing structure for Pack Two is as follows:

  1. BE6 59 kWh – ₹21.90 lakh
  2. BE6 79 kWh – ₹23.50 lakh
  3. XEV 9e 59 kWh – ₹24.90 lakh
  4. XEV 9e 79 kWh – ₹26.50 lakh

Prices do not include charger and installation costs. Customers can choose between 7.2 kW or 11.2 kW charging units at additional cost. Mahindra is also offering existing customers the option to upgrade their bookings to the newer 79 kWh models. The new 79 kWh battery pack comes at a ₹1.60 lakh premium for both the Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6

Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6 – Exterior Design

The design of both Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6 maintains a futuristic and distinctive coupe design language. Key exterior features include, Bi-LED headlamps with sequential turn indicators, exterior cladding with illuminated Mahindra logos, Fixed glass infinity roof, 19-inch alloy wheels with aero covers, Centre connected DRL on XEV 9e.

Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6 – Interior and Infotainment Features

The Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6 Pack Two models receive key interior enhancements. The BE6 now gets – sage leatherette seats and an ivory roof lining from Pack Three, offering a more premium feel in the cabin.

Shared interior features across both models include: 16-speaker Harman Kardon system with Dolby Atmos, Dual or Triple-screen layouts (XEV 9e gets 3x 31.24 cm displays), Built-in OTT, shopping, and social media apps, Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, 5G connectivity and wireless phone charging, Amazon Alexa integration, BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) mounts for second-row passengers.

In addition to infotainment and safety, Mahindra’s Pack Two offerings cover comfort details thoroughly with features like Push button start, auto headlamps, and rain-sensing wipers, Tilt and telescopic steering, Dual-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents, Cooled centre console storage, 65W fast Type-C charging in both rows, 60:40 split and reclining second-row seats. The Mahindra XEV 9e offers a boot space 663 litres and frunk space 150 litres, while the BE6 offers a 455 litre boot and a smaller 45 litre frunk space.

Safety continues to be a focus area in the Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6 Pack Two, with a comprehensive suite of features – 6 airbags, Level 2 ADAS with radar and camera integration, Brake-by-wire and intelligent electronic booster, Rear HD parking camera with front & rear sensors, TPMS with individual tyre readouts, Auto defogger, cornering lamps, and laminated acoustic glass. Also to be noted is both the Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6 both achieved 5-Star Bharat NCAP safety ratings.

Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6 – Rivals & Segment Positioning

The Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6 compete with the Tata Harrier.ev (₹21.49 to 30.23 Lakh ex-showroom), Hyundai Creta EV (₹17.99 to ₹24.99 ex-showroom), MG ZS EV (₹17.98–20.98 Lakh), and BYD Atto 3 (₹24.99 to 33.99 Lakh ex-showroom). While these models offer strong brand backing and global pedigree, Mahindra’s key differentiator is its big 79 kWh battery pack delivering up to 500 km of claimed range combined with fast charging and a tech-loaded cabin that enhances the XEV 9e and BE6’s  appeal in India’s electric SUV market.
