The Jimny gets two variants in MT and AT guise

Maruti Suzuki has launched their much-awaited SUV, the Jimny at a price of Rs. 12.74 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). Bookings for it had opened 6 months ago when it was revealed at the Auto Expo 2023. Notably, India is the first market to receive the 5 door version which will later also be exported to other markets abroad.
Maruti Jimny Powertrain
The Jimny gets powered by a 1.5L four-cylinder engine that produces 103HP and 134NM of torque. This is available with either a 5 speed manual or a 4 speed AT transmission. Maruti is also offering the Suzuki AllGrip Pro 4×4 system as standard which gets a lot of off-roading goodies such as a low range transfer case, Brake Limited Differential, Electronic Traction Control, Shift-on-fly and more.
The codename for this engine is K15B which is the older version of the K15C seen in more recent Maruti models such as the Ertiga, Brezza and Grand Vitara. Maruti also claims the Jimny to have a ground clearance of 210mm with aggressive approach and departure angles.
Maruti Jimny Features
Talking of convenience features, the Jimny gets a 9 inch Smartplay Pro+ infotainment system with wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay connectivity, Auto climate control, LED projector headlamps, 6 airbags, ESP, Hill Hold Assist and more. It also gets Headlamp washers, Keyless Entry and Go and Arkamys sound system.
As for the design, Maruti has opted for a functional and rugged design keeping in mind the purpose of the car and to ensure abuse friendliness and ease of use.
Maruti Jimny Price & Variants
Maruti has brought the Jimny in two variants- Zeta and Alpha. Both of these are available with AT or MT transmissions while the top-spec Alpha also gets two dual tone paint options. Prices start at Rs. 12.74 Lakhs (Ex-showroom) for the base Zeta MT model while ranging to Rs. 15.05 Lakhs (Ex-showroom) for the top-end Alpha AT Dual-tone versions. Six exterior shades are being offered on the Jimny- Bluish Black, Kinetic Yellow, Sizzling Red, Nexa Blue, Granite Gray and Pearl Arctic White. Out of these, the Sizzling Red and Kinetic Yellow can also be had as dual tone options with a contrasting Bluish Black roof. The Jimny will go up against the likes of Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha.
