Fourth generation brings massive improvements to the Dzire

Maruti Suzuki has launched the fourth-generation Dzire in india at a price starting Rs. 6.79 Lakhs(Ex-showroom). The compact sedan gets a host of improvements including new powertrains despite being based on the same platform.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Design
For the first time ever, the Dzire no longer shares it’s design with the Swift hatchback. At the front, it gets an all new fascia with a new larger hexagonal shaped grille. Flanking this are two brand new LED headlamps. The bonnet is also flatter now with sharp creases towards either ends. Towards the side, one can see the resemblance to the 3rd generation Dzire with the only major change being new 17 inch alloys wheels and slightly reworked fender and door panels.
At the rear however, it gets new “Trinity” LED taillamps with a clear lens and a chrome strip linking them together. The bootlid also gets redesigned with a deeper recess and a small spoiler. The bumper also gets sharper creases now.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Interiors & Features
Unlike the exteriors, the dashboard design of the Dzire is identical to the Swift. It does get some specific changes though like a new dual-tone beige and black theme, faux wood trims and a silver accent on the dashboard. At the centre of it, stands the 9 inch Smartplay Pro Plus touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay as part of the equipment. It is also the first time that the Dzire will get an electric sunroof in the equipment list which also includes Auto Climate Control, Cruise Control, 360 degree camera, ARKAMYS surround sound system, TPMS, keyless entry, a Wireless smartphone charger and more.
As for safety, the fourth-generation Dzire has scored an impressive 5 stars crash safety rating from Global NCAP and gets 6 airbags, ABS+EBD, ESP, Brake Assist and 3 point seatbelts with reminders for all occupants as part of it’s safety suite.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Powertrain
Under the hood, the Dzire gets an all-new 1.2L three-cylinder petrol engine codenamed the Z12E. This engine- also be found on the fourth generation Swift can be had with a 5 speed MT or 5 speed AMT transmission options. This powertrain produces 81HP and 112NM of torque. Maruti will also be offering an S-CNG version of the same which will make a lesser 68HP and 102NM of torque which can only had with the 5 speed manual.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Variants & Price
Maruti Suzuki is offering the Dzire in four basic variants- LXI, VXI, ZXI and ZXI+. Price range starts from Rs. 6.79-10.14 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). The VXI and ZXI MT variants can also be had with S-CNG for an additional Rs. 95,000(Ex-showroom) over their pure petrol counterparts. The detailed pricelist is given below-

Three new colours- Alluring Blue, Nutmeg Brown and Gallant Red have been introduced in addition to the Magma Grey, Splendid Silver, Arctic White and Bluish Black.
The new fourth-generation Dzire will compete with other compact sedan such as the upcoming Honda Amaze facelift and Hyundai Aura among other rivals.
