Mercedes-Benz recently launched their latest electric crossover- the EQE 500 SUV! It gets a lot of tech, performance and luxury. For India, you can have it for a sum of Rs. 1.39Cr. 1. The 56 inch Hyperscreen!
The biggest technological highlight of the EQE SUV is the massive 56 inch “Hyperscreen” inside! With a superb resolution, it integrates three screens- a huge touchscreen in the middle flanked by a digital instrument cluster on the right along with another screen for the passenger. It also features the latest version of Mercedes’ MBUX operating system which is quite good. The response is slick and feels almost like a smartphone. We wish the climate control was not included in the touchscreen as while driving it is safer to have tactile buttons instead. The 15 speaker Burmester sound system is just the cherry on the cake.
2. The whoooosh!
Undoubtedly, the biggest draw for luxury EVs is the smooth drive and instant acceleration. The EQE SUV in India uses two electric motors on either axle making a combined 402HP and deliver a massive 858NM of torque to propel the EQE SUV from 0-100Kmph in just 4.9 seconds upto a top speed of 210Kmph. What’s more you get a massive 90.56kWh battery which gives it a good WLTP range of 550Km. This battery also has the capability to charge at speeds upto 180kW. Mercedes is also 0ffering a 10 year warranty for it which further boosts confidence. The service interval has also been kept at 2 years for added convenience.
3. Biometric User Profiles
One unique feature of the EQE SUV is the biometric profiles. Basically, you can configure upto 8 unique profiles which remembers the setting for the seats, steering, infotainment and can be accessed by merely scanning your fingerprints on the centre console. Mercedes Benz has even built-in the ability to purchase future software updates that can be done through OTA and can be paid for with just scanning the fingerprints!
