MG M9 Prices Hike: Here’s How Much It Costs Now

JSW MG Motor India has announced a price hike for the MG M9 electric luxury MPV. The MPV is now priced at Rs. 75.9 lakh (ex-showroom), as part of the brand’s April price revision. Earlier, the model was priced at Rs. 69.9 lakh (ex-showroom), making it Rs. 5 lakh more expensive now. The M9 was launched in July 2025 and is retailed through MG’s premium MG Select dealerships, alongside the MG Cyberster electric sports car. Earlier this month, MG had also revised prices across its standard lineup including the Comet, Windsor, ZS, Astor, Hector, and Gloster, and now the M9 has also received a price hike.

MG M9 – Exterior Design

The MG M9 stands out with its large dimensions, measuring 5200 mm in length, 2000 mm in width, and 1800 mm in height, along with a 3200 mm wheelbase. This makes it larger than most MPVs currently on sale.

At the front, the MPV features connected LED DRLs, split LED headlamps, and a wide trapezoidal grille. The side profile gets sculpted lines, 19-inch alloy wheels, Z-shaped chrome window trim, and power sliding rear doors. At the rear, it gets LED tail lamps connected by a wraparound light bar, completing the overall design. The M9 is offered in three exterior colour options: black, white, and grey.

MG M9 – Interior design and Features

Inside, the MG M9 gets a premium cabin finished in a cognac brown theme with a mix of leather and suede upholstery. Ambient lighting is available across all three rows, while the panoramic sunroof setup includes a single-pane unit at the front and a dual-pane setup at the rear.

The dashboard follows a clean and minimal layout, featuring a 12.23-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch digital driver’s display. The MPV also comes equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 13-speaker JBL sound system, and a digital IRVM as part of the standard equipment.

The second-row captain seats are a highlight, offering electric adjustment, ventilation, heating, massage functions, and powered ottoman support. A dedicated control screen on the centre armrest allows passengers to adjust seat functions, blinds, and climate settings. Rear entertainment screens and wireless charging are also included. The M9 also offers a usable third row, making it a full three-row luxury MPV.

MG M9 – Battery Pack and Range

The MG M9 is powered by a 90 kWh nickel manganese cobalt battery pack paired with a front-mounted electric motor. The setup produces 245 hp and 350 Nm of torque. MG claims a driving range of 548 km on a single charge under MMI testing conditions.

Charging options include an 11 kW AC charger, which takes around 10 hours for a full charge. With a 160 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 0 to 100 percent in approximately 90 minutes. The M9 also supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging functions.

MG M9 – Safety Features

The M9 comes equipped with a comprehensive safety package. It includes seven airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, an electronic parking brake, tyre pressure monitoring system, all-wheel disc brakes, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

Additionally, the MPV gets a 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, and autonomous emergency braking. The model has also received a five-star safety rating in both Euro NCAP and ANCAP crash tests.

MG M9 – Market Positioning and Rivals

The MG M9 does not have a direct electric luxury MPV rival in India at present. However, it competes with premium ICE MPVs such as the Kia Carnival, Toyota Vellfire, and Mercedes-Benz V-Class. With the revised pricing of Rs. 75.90 lakh, the M9 sits above the Kia Carnival, which is priced at Rs. 59.42 lakh, while remaining significantly more affordable than the Toyota Vellfire at Rs. 1.22 crore and the Mercedes-Benz V-Class at Rs. 1.40 crore.
