Renault Duster India launch on March 17: Expected price, specs & more

Renault India will launch the much awaited third-generation Renault Duster in India on March 17th, 2026, with Renault confirming that the price announcement will take place on March 17th, 2026. The SUV has made its return to the Indian market four years after it was discontinued in 2022, marking a major comeback in the mid size SUV segment. On January 26, 2026, on India’s Republic Day, Renault unveiled the all new third generation Duster for our market. Pre bookings have been already open since the day of the unveil with an advance amount of Rs 21,000, giving interested customers an early chance to book the SUV.

Renault Duster – Exterior Design

The third generation Renault Duster features an all new exterior design. The India spec model looks different from the international version sold in global markets. At the front, the SUV gets bold Duster lettering in place of the traditional Renault logo. It features LED headlamps with eyebrow shaped DRLs, though projector units are not offered. The bonnet is sculpted and muscular. Chunky body cladding and a silver finished skid plate enhance the rugged appeal.

In terms of dimensions, the Duster measures 4346 mm in length, 1815 mm in width, and 1703 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2657 mm. The SUV carries strong square wheel arches and rear door handles integrated into the C pillar, giving it a clean and modern look. Roof rails further add to its adventure ready stance.

It offers a ground clearance of 212 mm, with an approach angle of 26.9 degrees and a departure angle of 34.7 degrees. At the rear, it gets a connected tail lamp design, a 2D Renault logo, and Duster badging positioned at the lower section of the boot.

Renault Duster – Interior Design and Features

Step inside and the cabin marks a huge departure from its predecessor. The interior feels premium and modern. The SUV comes equipped with a 10.1 inch touchscreen infotainment system paired with a 10.25 inch TFT instrument cluster for driver information. Despite the digital upgrades, Renault has retained physical buttons for essential controls. The steering wheel is leather wrapped with contrast stitching and steering mounted controls. The dashboard and door inserts are finished in jade leather with carbon accents.

The Duster offers 6 way power adjustable driver and co driver seats with ventilation. It also gets an electric tailgate, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. Other features include a 360 degree camera, dual zone air conditioning, clean air AQI display with PM2.5 filter, electric parking brake with auto hold, auto dimming IRVM, wireless charging, and puddle lamps. The SUV is equipped with a 6 way Arkamys sound system and Google built in assistance for voice control, navigation, media, and connected car functions.

Renault Duster – Powertrain Options and Safety 

Under the hood, the third generation Renault Duster will be offered with three powertrain options. The entry level engine is a 1.0 litre turbo petrol unit producing 100 horsepower and 160 Nm of torque, paired with a 6 speed manual gearbox. The next option is a 1.3 litre turbo petrol engine producing 163 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque, mated to a 6 speed dual clutch transmission. The top variant features a 1.8 litre four cylinder petrol engine with a hybrid setup. It produces 109 horsepower from the petrol engine, along with a 49 horsepower boost from the electric motor and a 20 horsepower hybrid starter generator, supported by a 1.4 kWh battery.

On the safety front, the Duster comes loaded with 17 advanced driver assistance (ADAS) features including adaptive cruise control. It also offers hill descent control along with regulatory mandated features such as six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, ISOFIX mounts, and more.

Renault Duster – Expected Price and Delivery Timeline

Renault is expected to price the Duster aggressively. Prices are likely to start at around Rs 10 lakh ex-showroom and go up to Rs 20 lakh for the top end hybrid variant. Deliveries for the 1.0 litre and 1.3 litre turbo petrol variants will begin in April 2026, while hybrid deliveries are expected during the festive season around Diwali 2026. Renault has also introduced an “R-Pass” for early customers, offering benefits such as introductory pricing and priority deliveries.
