The new facelift will bring comprehensive revisions
Kia had launched the Seltos in 2019 and became a massive hit at launch. However, to keep it updated with newer rivals in 2023, Kia is readying a facelifted variant set to launch early next month. Let’s have a look at the Top 5 things you should know about the Seltos Facelift
1. Kia Seltos facelift design changes
Kia has given the Seltos a complete makeover on the outside. This includes the addition of new bumpers with sharper edges, new design for the alloy wheels, a heavily updated grille and headlights, a new LED taillamp setup with connected light bar, faux skid plates and beefier cladding.
2. Kia Seltos facelift engine
The Seltos facelift is expected to continue with the current engine options which include a 1.5L NA petrol and a 1.5L Diesel engine. Kia will also introduce a new 1.5 turbo-petrol GDi engine with the facelift. This engine will be shared with the Carens. Power an torque figures would be 160HP and 253NM. Transmission option could include a 6 speed MT or a 7 speed DCT automatic just like its sibling. For the NA petrol it will continue with an IVT automatic transmission and the diesel would get the same 6 speed torque converter automatic as offered now. On select variants, an option of Kia’s iMT transmission could also be offered.
3. Kia Seltos interiors
We can expect the Seltos facelift to get comprehensive updates to the interiors. These could include a new dashboard design with soft touch plastics. Further, Kia might also introduce new switchgear. The centre console could also be updated to free up space and increase the storage spaces. A new tan coloured interior option can also make its way alongside the current white and all-black themes. Additionally, the Turbo variants could receive contrast red accents with red stitching to enhance the sportiness.
4. Kia Seltos features
Talking of the equipment list, the Seltos will receive a lot of new features. These could include a new, larger panoramic sunroof, 360 degree parking camera, dual-zone climate control, ADAS features, adaptive cruise control, ambient lighting etc. Also on the cards are twin 10.25 inch screens, one of which will act as the digital instrument cluster. An electric tailgate could also make its way here.
5. Kia Seltos facelift launch timeline
It is being said that Kia is all set to unveil the Seltos facelift in the second week of July with bookings starting soon after. However, the official launch is expected to happen in August 2023. There is no word yet on the booking amount although few dealers have started taking unofficial bookings.
The Kia Seltos facelift faces steep competition from the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun among others.
