Volkswagen Taigun Trail edition launched at Rs. 16.29 Lakhs

Volkswagen has launched a new Trail edition for it’s midsize SUV, the Taigun. Based on the 1.5L GT trim, it gets mostly minor additions and is priced at Rs. 16.29 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). Further, it becomes the third addition to Volkswagen’s GT Edge limited collection after the Virtus and Taigun Edge editions.

Volkswagen Taigun Trail Edition; what’s changed

As part of the Trail Edition, Volkswagen is offering minor cosmetic changes along with some new equipment. On the outside, you have a set of graphics on the side profiles with a Trail badge on the hatch. You also now have blacked out alloys, ORVM covers and a roof wrap. It also gets functional roof rails along with puddle lamps with the VW logo. Inside, there are new black seat covers with red inserts and metal pedal covers.

In terms of equipment, the Trail edition also gets a new Blaupunkt dual-camera dashcam with functions such as loop recording and motion detection. The Taigun Trail edition will be available in three colours- Candy White, Reflex Silver, and Carbon Steel Grey.

Volkswagen Taigun Trail Edition Powertrain, Price

Under the hood, the Trail edition is only available with the 1.5L TSI engine paired to a 6 speed manual transmission. This combination produces 150HP and 250NM. Notably, there is no DSG automatic transmission on offer.

As for pricing, it remains unchanged from the mid-spec GT variant it is based on at Rs. 16.29 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). The Taigun Trail Edition sits squarely in the middle of the crowded midsize SUV segment with others cars such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Honda Elevate among others.
