In addition to now being RDE norms compliant, the Tiguan gets a few new features.
- Prices go up by Rs. 49,000
- Gets new interior colour colour scheme
- New Park Assist system offered
Volkswagen has updated its flagship SUV, the Tiguan with new features. The SUV is now also compliant with RDE norms which were introduced with the Bharat Stage 6 Phase II emission requirements introduced in April. These changes have also led to a price hike of Rs. 49,000 which now pegs it’s price at Rs. 34.69 Lakh (Ex-showroom).
Volkswagen Tiguan Interiors & Features
The Tiguan now gets a new Grey and White interior colour scheme which replaces the all-black theme from before. In terms of equipment, the changes now come in the form of a Wireless smartphone charger. Further, the Tiguan now gets Park Assist which is a semi-automatic parking function where the driver only needs to control the brake and throttle and the car steers itself into a parking spot. In terms of safety features, it continues to be offered with 6 airbags, Three Point Seatbelts, Rear Seatbelt Reminder, Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Assist and more.
Volkswagen Tiguan Engine & Rivals
The Tiguan gets powered by the same 2.0L TSI Petrol engine mated to a 7 speed DSG transmission. This combination powers all four wheels with the help of a 4Motion AWD system. Figures, too, remain the same at 190HP and 320NM. However, the engine is now compliant with BS6 Phase II and RDE norms and gets a better ARAI-certified fuel economy rating of 13.54Kmpl
While all other things remain the same, these changes have caused the Tiguan to receive a price hike of Rs. 49,000. It rivals other cars such as the Jeep Compass, Skoda Kodiaq, Hyundai Tucson and Citroen C5 among others.
