2025 Maruti Grand Vitara CNG launched with new features: Price, efficiency and more

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced the launch of the updated 2025 Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara S-CNG, available in two variants—Delta and Zeta—at ex-showroom prices of ₹13.48 lakh and ₹15.62 lakh, respectively. The latest iteration introduces additional safety features and minor interior enhancements, while continuing to operate with the brand’s 1.5-litre CNG-compatible powertrain.

The Grand Vitara S-CNG remains part of Maruti Suzuki’s multi-powertrain strategy that includes petrol, strong hybrid, and CNG options in the same vehicle line-up. Earlier this year MSIL had launched the Grand Vitara Petrol & Strong Hybrid with a few feature upgrades and an automatic gearbox option with the AllGrip AWD Variant.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara S-CNG – Safety Updates

The 2025 Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara S-CNG now offers six airbags as standard—marking a step forward in safety features among CNG-powered SUVs. Additional equipment includes Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Hill Hold Assist, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and disc brakes on all four wheels. ISOFIX mounts for child seats are also included.

While the platform and core safety architecture remain unchanged, the inclusion of these features places the S-CNG variant more in line with growing consumer and regulatory expectations around occupant protection.Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara S-CNG

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara S-CNG – Interior Updates

The updated Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara S-CNG introduces several feature enhancements. Ventilated front seats, a wireless charging dock, and an air purifier with PM 2.5 monitoring are now part of the equipment list. The Zeta variant further benefits from a Clarion-branded sound system and a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment screen offering wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Also present are conveniences such as rear AC vents, reclining 60:40 split rear seats, rear sunshades, auto-folding ORVMs, and Suzuki Connect—a connected vehicle platform offering remote functions and real-time vehicle status. The dashboard design and overall interior layout are consistent with the standard variants.

Despite these upgrades, some elements such as the absence of an auto-dimming IRVM or powered driver’s seat suggest that the positioning remains within a mid-range feature bracket.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara S-CNG – Powertrain & Fuel Efficiency

The 2025 Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara S-CNG continues to be powered by the K15C 1.5-litre, four-cylinder Dual Jet Dual VVT petrol engine configured to run on CNG. In this mode, it produces 87.8 PS of power at 5,500 rpm and 121.5 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard, with no automatic option currently available for the CNG variants.

According to ARAI-certified data, the vehicle delivers a fuel efficiency of 26.6 km/kg. While this figure aligns with other models in Maruti Suzuki’s S-CNG portfolio, it comes with its own set of compromises in boot space due to the presence of the CNG cylinder.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara S-CNG – Exterior Design

There are no significant styling changes on the 2025 Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara S-CNG. It retains the same design language as its petrol and hybrid counterparts—marked by a wide grille, dual-LED DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels, and body cladding intended to underscore its SUV identity.

The dimensions remain unchanged: 4,345 mm in length, 1,795 mm in width, and 1,645 mm in height. The visual distinction between the CNG and other powertrain versions is minimal.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara S-CNG – Segment Positioning & Rivals

With introductory prices set at ₹13.48 lakh for the Delta variant and ₹15.62 lakh for the Zeta, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara S-CNG positions itself as a price sensitive alternative to strong-hybrids and EV rivals.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “The new 2025 Grand Vitara S-CNG offers a range of new convenience & safety alongside the introduction of 6 airbags as standard. Powered by our Next-Gen K-series 1.5-litre Dual Jet Dual VVT engine, it delivers remarkable fuel-efficiency, without compromising on its exhilarating SUV drive experience. We are confident that the new Grand Vitara S-CNG will continue to win the hearts of customers with its robust safety and commendable efficiency.”

Currently, the vehicle faces limited direct competition in the CNG SUV space, although upcoming launches from rival manufacturers may alter this scenario. Maruti Suzuki’s widespread sales and service network continues to provide a logistical advantage over its rivals.
