2026 Tata Punch EV Facelift to be Unveiled on This Date: All Details Here

The Tata Punch EV facelift has been officially previewed ahead of its unveil scheduled for 20 February 2026. Tata Motors has released a single image of the upcoming electric SUV, and while limited, it clearly shows the updated exterior design. The Tata Punch EV gets a refreshed front fascia with visible changes that help differentiate it from the outgoing model, while the rest of the details will be revealed closer to launch.

Tata Punch EV Facelift – Expected Exterior Design Updates

The most noticeable changes on the Tata Punch EV facelift are at the front. It features a redesigned front bumper along with new headlights, giving the electric SUV a fresher look. The updated lighting elements and revised bumper styling set it apart from the current Punch EV on sale. As of now, Tata has not revealed any images of the rear section. However, expectations are that the rear design of the Tata Punch EV facelift will closely resemble the recently launched Punch ICE facelift, which introduced connected LED tail lamps.

The interior of the Tata Punch EV facelift has not been unveiled yet. That said, based on updates seen across Tata’s recent product range, we can expect some feature upgrades. A larger touchscreen infotainment system is likely, along with a few additional creature comforts. The overall layout may remain similar to the current Punch EV.

Mechanically, the Tata Punch EV facelift is expected to continue with the same battery options offered on the current model. It is likely to continue with the same 25kWh and 35kWh battery pack options offered on the current model.

The 25kWh battery pack comes with an ARAI claimed range of 265km, while the larger 35kWh unit delivers a claimed 365km range on a single charge. The electric motor paired with the 25kWh battery produces 82hp and 114Nm of torque, whereas the motor on the 35kWh battery pack generates 122hp and 190Nm of torque. While Tata Motors may work on minor efficiency improvements, the overall mechanical setup is expected to remain the same on the facelifted Punch EV.

Tata Punch EV Facelift – Expected Price

Currently, the Tata Punch EV is priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 14.44 lakh ex showroom. Since this is a facelift with visual updates and possible feature additions, a slightly more premium pricing is expected once the updated version goes on sale after its official launch.

Safety continues to be a strong area for the Punch brand. The ICE version of the Tata Punch has achieved a 5 star safety rating, and the pre facelift Punch EV has also secured a 5 star rating. What safety score the facelifted Tata Punch EV will receive remains to be seen and will only be known after it undergoes testing following its launch. The updated model is will continue to offer six airbags and all safety systems mandated under current Indian regulations, ensuring it maintains Tata’s strong safety credentials.

Tata Punch EV Facelift – Market Positioning and Rivals

In terms of market positioning, the Tata Punch EV is primarily positioned as a compact electric micro SUV, and its key rival remains the Citroen eC3. The Punch EV and the eC3 compete closely on pricing and positioning, given their similar size and pricing. At the same time, the Punch EV also overlaps with the Mahindra XUV3XO EV, especially its base variant priced at Rs 13.89 lakh,  Additionally, select lower variants of the Tata Nexon EV also fall into the Punch EV’s competitive space.
