Mercedes-Benz V-Class – Interior Design and Features

The cabin comes with a sophisticated six seat layout which allows for multiple seating configurations. The second row features individual luxury seats with ventilation, massage function, calf support, deployable cupholders, and wireless charging. The third row also gets ventilated seats which is a segment first in India along with three point seat belts and ISOFIX child seat anchorage. Buyers can also opt for a configuration where the third row is completely omitted to create a more lounge like space with additional legroom.

The front row seats are electrically adjustable and ventilated with memory function available for both the first and second row seats. The cabin is further enhanced with dual 12.3 inch touchscreens, a Burmester surround sound system with 15 loudspeakers and 640 W output, 64 colour ambient lighting, automatic climate control, and heat insulated glass with sunblinds. Electric sliding doors on both sides and an electrically operable split tailgate also add to the convenience offered by the V-Class.

Mercedes-Benz V-Class – Powertrain and Suspension

In terms of powertrain options, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class is offered with a 2.0 litre petrol engine producing 228 bhp along with an additional 20 bhp from a mild hybrid system. The diesel variant is powered by a 2.0 litre turbo diesel engine producing 233 bhp. Both these engines come paired with a 9G TRONIC automatic transmission. India also becomes the first market globally where both petrol and diesel variants of the V Class are offered with airmatic pneumatic suspension as standard which has been specifically tuned for Indian road conditions.

Mercedes-Benz V-Class – Safety Features

Safety features on the V-Class include seven airbags with curtain airbags extending from the A pillar to the D pillar, Active Distance Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist, Attention Assist, and a 360 degree camera system. The vehicle also comes equipped with Active Parking Assist supported by 12 ultrasonic sensors.

Mercedes-Benz V-Class – Market Positioning and Rivals

The Mercedes-Benz V-Class is available in petrol and diesel variants along with three seating configurations. Customers can book the MPV with a booking amount of Rs 5 lakh which will ensure eligibility for the introductory price. Mercedes is also offering priority deliveries for its existing customers. In the Indian market, the V-Class will primarily rival the Toyota Vellfire and the Lexus LM in the luxury MPV segment.

“We are delighted to introduce the all-new V-Class for the Indian market, redefining the concept of
a ‘private suite’ offering luxury, space and privacy to our exclusive customers. The V-Class addresses a growing trend amongst India’s opulent customers and trend setters, who seek an oasis of personal space, tranquility and privacy, while travelling in the lap of luxury. The decision to start the local production of the V-Class further reinforces our India commitment, adding significant value to our customers.” said Mr. Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India
