The Indian automotive market continued its steady pace of updates and new introductions through May 2026, setting the tone for what is shaping up to be an equally active June. The past month saw a mix of luxury, mass market, and electric vehicle launches that kept the momentum strong across segments.

Among the highlights was the BMW M440i Convertible, MG introduced the Majestor, while Toyota entered the electric space with the Urban Cruiser Ebella. Honda refreshed one of its most consistent sellers with the City facelift, adding subtle updates to keep it competitive. Tata Motors also updated its Tiago range, with both internal combustion engine and electric versions receiving a facelift, improving features and efficiency.
With that momentum behind, June 2026 is set to bring a diverse mix of launches, with a clear trend emerging towards electrification, hybrids and performance focused offerings.
Upcoming Car Launches June 2026 – Mercedes-Benz S-Class PHEV
Mercedes Benz will take the spotlight on June 15 with the launch of the S Class plug in hybrid, marking the brand’s first plug in hybrid vehicle for the Indian market. This will also be the updated version of its flagship sedan that was revealed globally earlier this year. The expected variant for India is the S 450 e, which will arrive as a completely built unit. It is powered by a 3.0 litre turbo petrol inline six engine paired with an electric motor and a 22 kWh battery pack.

The combined output stands at 435 hp and 680 Nm, with a claimed 0 to 100 kmph time of 5.7 seconds. A conventional petrol variant is expected to follow at a later stage. Design updates include a larger grille with chrome star detailing and an illuminated surround, along with updated lighting elements. Inside, the global model features the new MBUX Superscreen and updated software architecture, although final specifications for India will be confirmed at launch.

Upcoming Car Launches June 2026 – BYD PHEV SUV
Continuing with the plug in hybrid trend, BYD will introduce its first such model in India on June 9. The brand has so far focused only on electric vehicles in the country, making this a significant shift in strategy. While the exact model has not yet been confirmed, it will be an SUV. Globally, BYD offers plug in hybrid options such as the Atto 2 and the Sealion 6.

The Atto 2 combines a 1.5 litre petrol engine with battery options that deliver a claimed range of up to 998 km. The Sealion 6 offers both naturally aspirated and turbo petrol engine options paired with larger battery packs, with a claimed combined range crossing 1000 km. The India bound model is expected to bring similar features, although the final specs will be confirmed only at the time of launch.

Upcoming Car Launches June 2026 – Skoda Kodiaq RS
Skoda is also preparing to expand its performance lineup in India with the Kodiaq RS. This will be the first RS SUV from the brand in the country and is expected to arrive as a completely built unit. The model was showcased earlier this year and will feature a more powerful version of the 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine, producing 265 hp and 400 Nm.

Power will be sent to all four wheels through a seven speed dual clutch transmission. Visual changes include a sportier exterior with blacked out elements and larger wheels, while the cabin will feature an all black theme with red accents and sport seats.
Upcoming Car Launches June 2026 – BMW X6 M60i
BMW is set to reintroduce the X6 in India, this time in the M60i form. Pre launch bookings are already underway, with a launch expected soon. The coupe SUV will be powered by a 4.4 litre twin turbo V8 petrol engine with mild hybrid assistance, producing 523 hp and 750 Nm. It will come with an eight speed automatic transmission and all wheel drive, enabling a 0 to 100 kmph time of just 4.3 seconds. The design remains bold, with coupe styling, 22 inch wheels, and a feature rich interior that includes dual screens and advanced comfort features.

Upcoming Car Launches June 2026 – Tata Sierra EV
Tata Motors will continue its electric push with the Sierra EV, expected to arrive in June. Positioned below the Harrier E. While battery specifications are yet to be revealed, we speculate it to be powered by the 65kWh battery pack from the Harrier EV.

The design will retain the familiar Sierra silhouette but with electric specific changes such as a closed grille and aerodynamic elements. It is expected to compete with models like the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella and MG ZS EV.
