Audi RS Q8 performance SUV launch tomorrow: Gets same engine as the Lamborghini Urus!

Audi India is gearing up to introduce the facelifted RS Q8 Performance SUV to the Indian market on February 17, 2025. Pre-bookings for the updated model have already begun, requiring a deposit of Rs 5 lakh. Customers can reserve the SUV exclusively through online channels and the myAudi Connect app.

Arriving in India via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route, the new RS Q8 is expected to be available in a single, fully loaded variant, with prices starting at approximately Rs 1.8 crore (ex-showroom). This high-performance SUV will take on rivals such as the Lamborghini Urus, Porsche Cayenne GTS, and BMW XM. Positioned as the sportier version of the standard Q8, the RS Q8 boasts an aggressive exterior design, additional premium features, and a significantly more powerful engine.

The design of the new RS Q8 retains the familiar silhouette of the standard Q8 but appears significantly more aggressive and bold. It sports a revamped black grille with a 3D honeycomb pattern, complemented by carbon-fiber accents on the front lip and air vents. The front and rear bumpers have been redesigned, featuring larger air intakes for improved aerodynamics. The SUV also comes equipped with LED Matrix headlights and OLED taillights. Additional design highlights include red brake calipers, sleek roof rails, an integrated rear spoiler, customizable DRLs, a shark fin antenna, and large dual exhaust tips. As standard, the RS Q8 rides on 22-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, with the option to upgrade to 23-inch wheels at an extra cost.

Inside, the overall cabin layout remains largely unchanged but now features updated upholstery and newly designed sports seats. The SUV is packed with premium features, including four-zone climate control, a Bang & Olufsen Advanced sound system, a fully digital virtual cockpit, a powered tailgate, RS drive modes, a 360-degree camera system, and hands-free parking. It also comes equipped with advanced driving technologies such as active roll stabilization, all-wheel steering, adaptive air suspension, and the latest Quattro sport differential for enhanced performance and stability.

Under the hood, the RS Q8 is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, delivering an impressive 640hp and 850Nm of torque. This powerhouse is paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, enabling the SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds.
