BYD India is set to launch the Sealion 7 electric SUV on February 17, 2025. Bookings for the new EV are already open, with a booking fee of Rs 70,000. Customers can reserve the SUV online or at BYD dealerships. The company offers a 7-year/1.5 lakh km warranty and a free 7 kW home charger to the first 70 buyers.
The Sealion 7 is built on BYD’s e-platform 3.0, inspired by the motion of sea lions jumping into water, reflected in its five-spoke design. The SUV shares similarities with the Seal sedan, with sharp lines, angular headlamps, LED DRLs, vents, and large air intakes. It also features aerodynamic alloy wheels, flush door handles, and prominent wheel arch cladding. The rear design includes a sleek roof-mounted spoiler, connecting LED taillamps, and a second lip spoiler. The SUV measures 4,830 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height.
Inside, the Sealion 7 includes a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Other features include electrically adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker audio system, a head-up display, and ADAS.
The Sealion 7 will be available in two variants: Premium and Performance. Both feature an 82.56 kWh battery pack. The Premium variant offers 313 PS, 380 Nm torque, and a range of 567 km per charge with RWD. The Performance variant delivers 530 PS, 630 Nm torque, and a range of 542 km per charge with AWD.
