Bharat Benz HX and Torqshift Series Unveiled – Check Powertrain, Features, Safety and More!

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has officially unveiled the Bharat Benz HX and Torqshift Series of trucks. The new lineup services core commercial sectors such as mining, heavy-duty construction, and infrastructure logistics. With this launch, Bharat Benz aims to address the evolving demands of heavy-duty operations in both off-road and highway environments, while ensuring compliance with BS-VI Phase II norms.

The new range was extensively tested with over 150 trucks across challenging construction and mining sites in India, claiming gains in uptime, efficiency, and profitability ahead of full-scale production.

Bharat Benz HX and Torqshift Series – Product Range

The Bharat Benz HX and Torqshift Series have been introduced across three primary applications—mining, construction, and ready-mix concrete (RMC) operations.

The HX Series is designed primarily for heavy-duty construction applications, offering enhanced ruggedness and high ground clearance. This series comprises of the 2828C HX and 3532C HX models Offered in two engine configurations. Both these trucks have a Gradeability up to 60% in 2828C and up to 54% in 3532C under full load capacity.Bharat Benz HX and Torqshift Series

The Torqshift Series, meanwhile, is engineered mainly for mining applications The Torqshift series have two variants 2832CM and 3532CM. They are equipped with an Automated Manual Transmission. Bharat Benz claims that the AMT lag has been reduced, increase in comfort, faster TAT and better fuel efficiency over rivals.

The 2828C RMC variant with 9 cubic meter concrete tank capacity. It features a single powertrain option.

Bharat Benz HX and Torqshift Series – Powertrain and Transmission

These trucks are powered by Daimler’s OM926 BSVI OBD-II diesel engines. The HX series trucks offer two powertrain configurations: 280 Hp and 1100 Nm of torque and 316 Hp and 1250 Nm of torque. The HX series trucks are mated to a 10-speed manual synchromesh gearbox.

The Torqshift series also two models with the same powertrain producing 316 Hp and 1250 Nm of torque but mated to Automated Manual Transmission. This transmission features 12 forward gears and 4 reverse gears. The 2828 RMC also features the OM 926 BSVI OBD-II engine generating 280hp and 1100Nm torque.

Bharat Benz HX and Torqshift Series – Safety and Features

The feature list for the Bharat Benz HX and Torqshift Series extends beyond just mechanical upgrades. Several safety and fleet operational features have been introduced:

Hill Hold Assist, Driver State Monitoring, Better Approach Angle, Wind Deflector for improved aerodynamics.

Bharat Benz claims that Driver comfort has also been improved with air-conditioned cabins, adjustable seats, and improved noise insulation. The cabin comes with a multi-function display, USB ports, and in-built navigation in some models and variants.

Bharat Benz HX and Torqshift Series – Design Updates

The exterior design of the Bharat Benz HX and Torqshift Series have seen a few design revisions. The new bumper design come with steel reinforcements, LED headlamps with daytime running lights (DRLs), and anti-skid steps have also been added to the Trucks.

Bharat Benz HX and Torqshift Series – Availability and Service Support

The company has confirmed that the Bharat Benz HX and Torqshift Series will be available across its nationwide dealership network starting July 2025.  Bharat Benz offfers 385 dealer touchpoints throughout India for after sales and service. The company also offers a 15,000 hours annual maintenance scheme to its customers.
