Kinetic Green launches E-Luna; iconic nameplate returns as an EV

The Luna nameplate is back after 24 years

  • 2kWh battery
  • 110 Km IDC range
  • Swappable battery

Kinetic Green has launched the E-Luna at a price of Rs.69,990 (Ex-showroom). The EV version comes a whole 24 years after the first 50cc version was discontinued. It can also be booked by customers online via e-commerce sites. There are two variants available with different battery sizes.

Kinetic E-Luna Design & Features

The E-Luna has been positioned as a utility e-scooter primarily aimed at B2B users. This is evident in the design that is mostly utilitarian and basic. That said, it has some clever touches like a removable rear seat and a fairly light kerb weight of just 96Kgs. It also features large 16-inch spoked wheels with TVS Eurogrip tyres.

Besides this, there isn’t much in terms of features although some notable ones include a side stand cutoff sensor, USB charging port and three ride modes. The payload capacity for the E-Luna is rated at 150Kg which makes it ideal for transporting cargo.

Kinetic E-Luna Battery, Price

The E-Luna gets an option of two lithium-ion battery packs- 1.7kWh and 2kWh with 90Kms and 110Kms of IDC-claimed range respectively. Kinetic Green also says that a 3kWh battery option with 150Kms of range will be launched soon. Powered by a BLDC motor, Kinetic Green claims 22NM of torque but no horsepower figures have been revealed. However, Kinetic Green claims a top speed of 50Kmph.

It is available in two variants- the 1.7kWh is priced at Rs. 69,990 while the 2kWh version can be had for Rs. 74,990 (Ex-showroom). Two colour options are offered namely Mulberry Red and Ocean Blue. While the E-Luna has no direct rivals, it will compete with petrol-powered utility options such as the TVS XL100.
