Mercedes-Benz Expands India Line-up with New Celebration Editions: Details

Mercedes-Benz India hosted a comprehensive press event at its headquarters in Pune, underlining the brand’s long-term commitment to the Indian market while showcasing a series of important product launches, strategic announcements and a detailed overview of its sales performance. The event brought together Mercedes’ top leadership, media and industry stakeholders, setting the tone for what the company describes as an “action-packed” year ahead. From local manufacturing of its most luxurious SUV to the introduction of special Celebration Editions and a clear future roadmap, Mercedes used the occasion to reinforce its position as India’s most desirable luxury automotive brand.

To commemorate the strong response to the Maybach GLS, Mercedes India introduced the Mercedes-Benz Maybach GLS 600 Celebration Edition, priced at Rs. 4.10 crore (ex-showroom). This special edition celebrates the success of the flagship luxury SUV while retaining all the elements that define the Maybach experience.

The Celebration Edition continues to offer the opulent first-class rear cabin, E-Active Body Control suspension and the handcrafted manufaktur leather interiors. Power comes from a 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine producing 557 hp and up to 770 Nm of torque, paired with the 9G-tronic automatic transmission. Designed for customers who prioritize comfort, exclusivity and road presence, the Mercedes-Benz Maybach GLS 600 Celebration Edition further strengthens the brand’s dominance in the ultra-luxury SUV segment.

Alongside the Maybach GLS, Mercedes also unveiled the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV Celebration Edition, priced at Rs. 1.34 crore for the five-seater and Rs. 1.48 crore for the seven-seater variant. The EQS SUV Celebration Edition celebrates the strong acceptance of Mercedes-Benz’s flagship electric SUV in India and reinforces the growing preference for top-end battery electric vehicles.

The Mercedes EQS SUV continues to be the brand’s highest-selling luxury BEV in India, offering an ARAI-certified range of up to 809 km. Both the EQS 450 and EQS 580 variants feature 4MATIC all-wheel drive, air suspension and ultra-fast DC charging capability of up to 200 kW. The Celebration Edition also brings enhancements such as AMG Line styling and improved rear-seat comfort features, making the EQS SUV an even more compelling proposition for luxury EV buyers.

Mercedes-Benz India reported a strong sales performance for the calendar year 2025, delivering 19,007 units and achieving its best-ever year in terms of revenue. The company’s “value over volume” strategy continued to pay dividends, with Top-End Vehicles accounting for 25 percent of total sales and registering an 11 percent year-on-year growth.

The high-performance Mercedes-AMG portfolio recorded a robust 34 percent growth, driven by strong demand for models such as the AMG G63, AMG CLE 53 and AMG GLC 43. Battery electric vehicles also played a key role, with BEVs accounting for 20 percent of all top-end Mercedes sales. Notably, 70 percent of Mercedes-Benz BEVs sold in 2025 were priced between Rs. 1.25 crore and Rs. 3.10 crore, highlighting a clear customer shift towards premium electric mobility.

Mercedes-Benz 2026 Plans – New Products, Charging and Network Expansion

Looking ahead, Mercedes-Benz India confirmed plans to launch 12 new products in 2026, including new-generation models, facelifts and several top-end vehicles and BEVs. Among the highlights is the debut of the much-awaited CLA EV, which will introduce the brand’s new MB.OS operating system.

Mercedes-Benz also announced the rollout of MB.Charge Public, one of the world’s largest integrated public charging networks. Available to existing Mercedes EV customers at no additional cost, the service provides access to over 9,000 DC fast-charging points across India, offering seamless charging, billing and payment integration through a single digital ecosystem.

In addition, Mercedes plans to expand its retail footprint with 30 new or upgraded luxury touchpoints in 2026, supported by investments of over Rs. 450 crore from franchise partners. The brand is also streamlining its customer journey under a new “One Customer Unit” approach, with a fully digital “Three Clicks to Finance” solution set to be introduced soon.
