Audi has officially revealed the new generation Audi Q3, marking a comprehensive step forward for the brand’s compact SUV offering. With more than two million units sold since its initial launch, the Q3 enters its third generation with a strong focus on electrified powertrains, intelligent digital interfaces, and safety-oriented design enhancements. Slated for launch in October 2025 across Europe. Audi India’s most recent launch was the A4 Signature Edition.
New Generation Audi Q3 – Exterior and Design
The design direction for the new generation Audi Q3 leans heavily into dynamic proportions and a more emotional design language. A high-mounted Single-frame grille dominates the front fascia, flanked by digital Matrix LED headlights now featuring micro-LED modules. These allow for high-resolution illumination, enhanced contrast in difficult weather conditions, and light signatures that interact with driver assistance systems.
The lighting suite includes 23-segment LED daytime running lights and new digital OLED tail lamps with six-panel customisable elements at the rear. Audi’s illuminated four-ring logo also makes its debut in the compact SUV segment with this model. Eleven exterior colours, including the new Madeira brown matte finish, further individualise the offering.
The vehicle’s drag coefficient has been improved to 0.30, aided by aerodynamic refinements. Wheel sizes range from 17 to 20 inches, including new Audi Sport designs with darkened 20-inch options.
New Generation Audi Q3 – Interior
The new generation Audi Q3 offers an interior that blends functional layout with premium finishes. A wide panoramic display combines a 12.8-inch touchscreen and an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster. A new steering column gear selector eliminates the need for a center-console shifter, freeing up space for cupholders and inductive smartphone charging.
Audi introduces Android Automotive OS for the first time in the Q3, offering third-party app integration such as YouTube directly from the car’s MMI. An onboard AI-powered voice assistant appears both on-screen and on the heads-up display.
Ambient lighting packages include dynamic door panel lighting, and the cabin materials now incorporate sustainable elements. Upholstery options include 100% recycled polyester, while floor mats use Econyl—a fibre made from reclaimed fishing nets and industrial waste. Up to 1,386 litres of luggage space is available with the rear seats folded.
New Generation Audi Q3 – Powertrain Options and Efficiency
The powertrain lineup for the new generation Audi Q3 includes petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid variants. The entry-level 1.5 TFSI engine delivers 150 PS and incorporates mild-hybrid technology with Cylinder on Demand functionality. The diesel alternative, a 2.0 TDI with 150 PS, targets long-distance efficiency with low CO₂ emissions.
The most significant upgrade comes in the form of the Audi Q3 SUV e-hybrid 200 kW. This plug-in hybrid variant offers a combined output of 272 PS and 400 Nm of torque. It features a new 25.7 kWh battery pack (net 19.7 kWh), enabling a WLTP-certified electric-only range of up to 119 kilometres. Charging is supported at up to 50 kW DC, bringing the battery from 10 to 80 percent in under 30 minutes.
New Generation Audi Q3 – Suspension
Audi has made notable advancements to the Q3’s suspension offerings. Customers can select between standard steel springs, sport suspension, and a two-valve adaptive damper system. The latter adjusts continuously based on road conditions, steering, and driving behaviour.
A newly introduced Balanced driving mode replaces the older Auto setting, aiming to optimise both comfort and agility. Progressive steering is also available for enhanced precision during city driving and greater feedback on highways. The SUV’s towing capacity remains at a capable 2,100 kg.
New Generation Audi Q3 – Driver Assistance and Safety Features
Safety and convenience are key themes in the new generation Audi Q3. Standard features include lane departure warning, cruise control with adaptive prep, and a driver attention monitor. Audi also introduces an advanced adaptive driving assistant plus, which supports lane-centering up to 210 km/h and even enables assisted lane changes at 90 km/h or above using data from rear radar and GPS.
Other notable features include trained parking, which allows the car to learn specific parking manoeuvres, and a reverse assistant capable of independently reversing 50 metres at speeds up to 10 km/h. Emergency Assist now takes over the vehicle and safely brings it to a stop if the driver is unresponsive, triggering a call to emergency services.
The lighting system also plays an active safety role, with dynamic LED signatures used to indicate blind-spot warnings and lane departures directly on the road surface in front of the vehicle.
New Generation Audi Q3 – India Launch and Rivals
While Audi India has yet to confirm an official timeline, the new generation Audi Q3 is expected to arrive in the Indian market by early to mid-2026. The new generation Audi Q3, when it arrives in India, will renew its rivalry with two familiar competitors: the BMW X1 and the Mercedes-Benz GLA.
