Tata Harrier.ev RWD Launched in India: Price, Range, Battery & Key Highlights

Tata Motors has officially announced the introductory prices for the Tata Harrier.ev RWD, while we still await the prices of the AWD variant. Starting at ₹21.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the all-electric Harrier enters the segment as a feature-rich, performance-oriented product, building on the legacy of its ICE sibling but with a battery-powered twist.

Tata Harrier.ev RWD – Design & Visual Identity

Visually, the Tata Harrier.ev RWD carries forward the muscular stance of the ICE Harrier while introducing EV-specific cues like a closed-off front grille, redesigned LED DRLs, and blue-tinted design elements that signal its zero-emission credentials. It retains a strong SUV presence on the road and is built on Tata’s Acti.EV architecture, signifying a ground-up EV development, rather than a conversion.Tata Harrier.ev RWD

Tata Harrier.ev RWD – Powertrain and Performance

The Tata Harrier.ev RWD is powered by a single motor setup in its RWD avatars, with the dual-motor AWD variants set to be revealed on June 27. While the company has highlighted a 0–100 km/h sprint time of 6.3 seconds for the AWD version, details of the RWD motor’s exact output are yet to be formally disclosed. That said, expectations peg it as a capable daily performer, with torque delivery typical of EVs—instant and linear.

The RWD variants come with either a 65 kWh or 75 kWh battery pack. The larger pack promises an ARAI-certified range of 627 km, while the estimated real-world range is between 480–505 km. Tata Motors also claims the car can gain 250 km of range in just 15 minutes of DC fast charging, provided compatible infrastructure is available.

Tata Harrier.ev RWD – Safety and Warranty

A key offering is the lifetime battery pack warranty, applicable to the first individual private owner—a move that sets a new precedent in the Indian EV market. While the Tata Harrier.ev RWD is yet to undergo BNCAP safety testing, expectations are high given the ICE Harrier’s 5-Star rating.

Tata Harrier.ev RWD – Charging and Ownership Experience

Beyond performance, Tata is promising peace of mind with fast-charging capabilities and the aforementioned battery warranty. With increasing availability of charging infrastructure, particularly through Tata Power’s EV network, the Tata Harrier.ev RWD aims to eliminate range anxiety among prospective EV buyers.

Bookings open on 2nd July 2025, and with pricing that competes directly with diesel and petrol SUVs, the Harrier.ev is positioned as a viable alternative for mainstream buyers.

Tata Harrier.ev RWD – Segment Positioning and Rivals

Competing electric SUVs in the market are positioned as follows: the Mahindra XUV 9e starts at around ₹21.90 lakh and goes up to ₹31.25 lakh (ex-showroom) depending on the variant. The Hyundai Creta EV has a lower entry price, beginning at approximately ₹17.99 lakh and extending up to ₹24.38 lakh. Meanwhile, the Mahindra BE 6 prices start from ₹18.90 lakh. These price points place the Tata Harrier.ev RWD competitively within the ₹21–27 lakh bracket, offering an alternative in a segment that’s rapidly diversifying. While it offers segment-first features and strong range figures, long-term ownership experience, real-world efficiency, and charging infrastructure compatibility will determine its true value in a competitive market.
