Toyota has launched the Rumion MPV in India. Based off the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, it becomes the fourth model to come out of both the carmakers’ alliance to co-operate on the development and rebadging products. Notably, the Rumion is already being exported to South Africa since a few years.

Toyota Rumion MPV Changes

The changes to the Rumion are purely cosmetic. It gets a new face consisting of a new grille which is larger than the Ertiga and gets a honeycomb pattern to the mesh. The bumper is new as well with triangular foglamp surrounds and sharper cuts and creases. The lower air dam gets a chrome border as well. Towards the side, the Rumion gets new two-tone machined alloy wheels to differentiate itself. The rear gets minimal changes as well with new badging and a different chrome garnish over the number plate. Inside as well, the Rumion remains identical to the Ertiga with the only change being the slightly darker shade for the dashboard.

Equipment list remains unchanged and it gets features such as projector headlamps, cruise control, roof-mounted AC vents for second row, 4 airbags, 7 inch touchscreen and more. Just like the Ertiga, it is available with a 7 seater layout but a more premium version with captain seats in the second row(Based on the Martui XL6) could launch in the future.

Toyota Rumion Powertrain

Further, it can also be had with a factory-fitted CNG kit (only MT) which reduces power and torque figures to 88HP and 121NM when running on CNG.
