Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line launched in India at Rs 48.9 lakh

Volkswagen Auto India has launched the Tiguan R-Line SUV at Rs 48.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the price includes a 4-year standard warranty, roadside assistance, and three free services. The SUV will be available in a single, fully loaded variant and will be brought in as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), the model is now open for bookings at Rs 25,000 through Volkswagen dealerships and online platforms, with deliveries expected soon.

Positioned as a sportier version of the regular Tiguan, the R-Line features design enhancements and additional equipment. Built on the MQB ‘evo’ platform, the SUV now measures 4539mm in length—30mm more than its predecessor—while maintaining a 2680mm wheelbase. It adopts Volkswagen’s updated design language, with a more curved profile, reducing its drag coefficient to 0.28 Cd from 0.33 Cd. The vehicle is equipped with IQ Light HD Matrix headlights, featuring 38,400 multi-pixel LEDs, a connecting LED strip, larger air intakes, and a redesigned LED taillight bar.

Exterior highlights include an R-Line grille, dual-tone alloy wheels, and dual-tip exhausts. Inside, the Tiguan R-Line gets a 15.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital cluster, a steering column-mounted gear selector, and a heads-up display. It also offers massaging and ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, multi-zone climate control, and advanced driver assistance systems including Park Assist Pro and remote parking.

Powering the SUV is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 190 PS and 320 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox and all-wheel drive.
