For the first time, Range Rover has applied a black ceramic finish to the SV roundel and brand badging on the front grille and tailgate. Brake callipers and all exterior accents are also finished in gloss black. This variant replaces all previous contrast or chrome elements with uniform dark finishes.

Range Rover Sport SV Black Edition – Interior Design

Inside, the Range Rover Sport SV Black Edition follows the same monochrome approach. It features Ebony Windsor leather upholstery on sculpted performance seats, along with contrasting gloss black interior trim pieces. The basic layout of the interior remains the same with, a 13.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre and a 13.7-inch driver display screen.

The illuminated treadplates now display “SV Black” branding, and gloss Grand Black finishers are applied across the dashboard and doors. The seat configuration remains unchanged from the standard SV variant, the Sport continues to seat 5 passengers.

Range Rover Sport SV Black Edition – Powertrain and Performance

The Range Rover Sport SV Black Edition is powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged mild-hybrid V8 petrol engine. It produces 635PS and 750Nm of torque. According to manufacturer data, the vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 289 kmph.

The model also retains Range Rover’s 6D Dynamics Suspension, which is designed to reduce pitch and roll during acceleration, braking, and cornering. The sensory “Body and Soul” seat system, which combines audio with physical feedback, is also included with the new Black Edition.

Range Rover Sport SV Black Edition – Availability

The Range Rover Sport SV Black Edition will be displayed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from July 10 to 13, 2025. Land Rover has confirmed that customer configurations and ordering will open globally in late 2025 through its official website.

The model does not introduce changes to the drivetrain or structural platform but offers a more uniform and personalized visual identity. It is aimed at customers looking for a more understated version of the existing Range Rover Sport SV.

Martin Limpert, Global Managing Director, Range Rover, said: “Range Rover Sport SV Black represents the essence of sporting luxury; a statement of audacious rebellion. We’ve created a vehicle that combines pure power and performance with a gritty, uncompromising attitude that demands attention. Range Rover’s design team has gone beyond anything we’ve offered previously with black packs or options, giving every single exterior and interior element a sophisticated Narvik black treatment; it appears to the eye, as if the vehicle has been dipped in gloss. We extend this attention to detail to new finishes for the first time on Range Rover, truly showcasing our craftsmanship.”

Range Rover Sport SV Black Edition – Market Positioning and Rivals

The Range Rover Sport SV Black Edition competes with high-performance luxury SUVs like the Lamborghini Urus SE, Audi RS Q8, Porsche Cayenne GTS, and BMW XM. Each rival offers distinct powertrains and driving dynamics, but all target buyers seeking performance, presence, and premium interiors. While the global debut is confirmed, there’s no word yet on the India launch timeline or expected pricing for this special edition.
