Hyundai Motor India Limited has reported a solid sales performance for May 2026, continuing its steady momentum in the Indian automotive market. The company recorded domestic sales of 47,837 units during the month, marking a 9.1% year on year growthw, a milestone that also comes as Hyundai celebrates 30 years of operations in India.
Including exports of 13,300 units, the brand’s total monthly sales stood at 61,137 units. This represents an overall growth of 4.1% compared to the same period last year, highlighting consistent demand across both domestic and international markets.

The company has also started the new financial year on a strong note. In the first two months of FY27, April and May, the compnay registered domestic sales of 99,739 units. This is a 13 percent increase over the 88,235 units sold during the same period in the previous financial year.
Hyundai India Sales Report May 2026 – Verna and Exter Facelift
Hyundai’s recent product updates have played a key role in sustaining this growth. Over the past few months, the brand has introduced updated versions of some of its key models including the facelifted Verna and Exter. In addition, Hyundai also launched a new variant of its best selling SUV, the Creta, in the form of the Summer Edition, aimed at enhancing value and appeal for buyers. The Grand i10 Nios also received a minor variant update by the newly introduced ‘Vibe Edition”.

Hyundai has also strengthened its brand presence through large scale initiatives and partnerships. As part of its 30 year celebrations in India, the company recently organised the Great India Drive, a long distance journey that covered a scenic route from Kochi in Kerala to Land’s End at Dhanushkodi in Tamil Nadu. Earlier in the year, Hyundai was also associated with the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup in March as an official sponsor. These initiatives have played a key role in enhancing brand visibility and customer engagement, further supporting the company’s strong sales performance.

Commenting on May 2026 sales results, Mr. Tarun Garg, MD & CEO – HMIL, said:
“Hyundai Motor India has continued its strong momentum of the year into May as well, achieving domestic sales of 47,837 units with 9.1% YoY growth and total sales of 61,137 units with 4.1% YoY growth. In the first two months (April and May) of FY27, HMIL witnessed domestic sales rise by 13% to 99,739 units, compared to 88,235 units in the same period of FY26.”

With a refreshed portfolio and steady export contribution, Hyundai continues to strengthen its position in the Indian market while maintaining a healthy growth trajectory.
