Mercedes-AMG G63 Collector’s Edition launched at Rs 4.3 crores: What makes it special

Mercedes-Benz India has officially launched the Mercedes-AMG G63 Collector’s Edition at 4.3 crore ex-showroom  —a special, highly personalized version of its iconic luxury off-roader. Crafted exclusively for the Indian market and restricted to just 30 units, this marks the most exclusive iteration of the G63 ever introduced in the country. This Mercedes-AMG G63 Collectors Edition is based on the facelifted version of the G63 that was launched in India last year.

The Mercedes-AMG G63 Collector’s Edition is a symbol of bespoke automotive luxury tailored for Indian buyers. It’s also the first AMG G63 to be inspired by India, with local design inputs from Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI) playing a crucial role in its conception.

Mercedes-AMG G63 Collector’s Edition – Exterior

The Mercedes-AMG G63 Collector’s Edition is available in two India-specific MANUFAKTUR colours—Mid Green Magno and Red Magno. These matte-finish paints aren’t standard fare on global G-Wagons and were developed as a tribute to India’s vibrant cultural landscape. Adding to its exclusivity, each vehicle features a “One of Thirty” plaque on the spare wheel cover and unique protective strips along the body that carry an embedded insignia.G63 Collector's Edition

This marks the first time Mercedes-Benz has offered such a level of market-specific personalization on the G63, reinforcing how significant the Indian market has become for ultra-luxury vehicles. The vehicle sits on bold 22-inch Tech Gold cross-forged AMG wheels. These not only amplify the G63’s muscular stance but also reinforce the “Collector’s Edition” identity. The wheels are paired with AMG-specific bumpers, stainless-steel trim elements, and the AMG crest projected onto the ground from the mirrors.

Mercedes-AMG G63 Collector’s Edition – Interior

Step inside, and the distinction continues. The Mercedes-AMG G63 Collector’s Edition sports a MANUFAKTUR two-tone Nappa leather interior in Catalana Beige and Black. Complementing the rich leatherwork is an open-pore walnut wood trim, which gives the cabin a tactile, earthy sophistication.

In an industry-first move for the G63, customers can have their name engraved on the passenger-side grab handle—making each SUV unmistakably unique to its owner.

Mercedes-AMG G63 Collector’s Edition – Engine & Performance

Underneath all the bespoke design lies the same brute performance that defines the AMG G 63. The handcrafted 4.0L V8 biturbo engine produces 585 hp and 850 Nm of torque. An integrated starter generator (ISG) adds another 15 kW of boost, aiding both fuel efficiency and initial acceleration.

The Mercedes-AMG G63 Collector’s Edition accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 240 km/h. It features the AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system, and the latest AMG active ride control suspension system, ensuring road manners that are surprisingly composed for a vehicle of its stature.

Mercedes-AMG G63 Collector’s Edition – Technology and Safety

The Mercedes-AMG G63 Collector’s Edition benefits from the latest MBUX NTG7 infotainment system. It includes two 12.3-inch digital screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB-C ports, and MBUX Augmented Reality navigation. The new off-road cockpit adds features such as tire temperature, steering angle, and vehicle altitude data. A “transparent hood” function also aids in off-road visibility. In terms of safety, it comes equipped with active brake assist, lane-keeping assist, 360-degree cameras, and advanced noise insulation for a more refined driving experience.

Mercedes-AMG G63 Collector’s Edition – Price and Verdict

At ₹4.3 crore (ex-showroom), the Mercedes-AMG G63 Collector’s Edition doesn’t come cheap—but that’s the point. It’s not meant to. It is only being offered to existing Mercedes-Benz Top-End Vehicle (TEV) customers, reinforcing its collector-only positioning

The Mercedes-AMG G63 Collector’s Edition isn’t just about exclusivity—it’s a reminder that even a global icon like the G-Wagon can carry a local soul. With thoughtful design inputs from MBRDI, it reflects what Indian buyers value: heritage, attention to detail, and individuality.

For the 30 people lucky enough to own one, this isn’t just another luxury SUV—it’s a deeply personal version of an automotive legend, built with their name on it, quite literally.
