With the G63 AMG already being a popular model, Mercedes has made only minor revisions to the styling. At the front there is a new bumper with three vertical slats. The grille also gets slightly revised with a dark chrome finish on the slats. Further, it now gets the AMG crest on the hood as well as in the puddle lamps which projects the same. The updated G63 AMG also gets optional 22 inch alloy wheels. Besides this, the spare wheel cover now gets a carbon fibre finish too.

Inside is where more changes lie. It gets Mercedes’ latest MBUX NTG7 infotainment system. Encased in a 12.3 inch screen, it gets touch functionality for the first time. Under the hood is where the biggest change has occured. The 4.0L twin-turbo V8 now gets a 48V mild-hybrid tech which gives it an additional 20HP boost when needed in addition to the 585HP that the engine produces. Max torque is rated at 850NM. It gets mated to a 9 speed DCT transmission. This additional power means that it now accelerates from 0-100Kmph in just 4,3 seconds while achieving a higher top speed of 240Kmph. Mercedes is also introducing the AMG Active Ride Control suspension which uses hydraulics and adjustable dampers which offer a more planted ride and better handling. For the first time, the G63 AMG also gets launch control.
